    Superhero Design

I had this weird urge to create a Superhero Character after reading an article on The Invincible comics on Wikipedia, and here's the result.
Just posting here to get some decent critique, because DA is useless for that. Not completely finished, obviously, I just need to get some decent references on the hands and redo the face.
Critique on the anatomy wanted, if possible, and any ideas for how improve the overall concept. I'm aware the pose is kind of awkward, but thats just how it turned out.
    Bad Planning -.-

    Umm... Thanks?

Anyone else have any superhero characters they want to post?

    lol
He does somewhat, doesn't he? =p
He's actually supposed to be fleeing form someone by climbing up the side of a building, or something... when I said bad planning, this is what I was referring to XD

Oh, I only just realised you meant the car in that as well =p
Thats actually just a random car being blown up by the person he's fleeing from. Didn't bother to include it, not really relevant to the critiquing yet

He has the look and smirk on his face, the look that you get when you're desperate for a toilet. Really.

    Well you sure are helpful.

Amphipterra, as always I'll state the obligatory 'study anatomy from reference' but I think you already know that. Right now there are a lot of proportion and perspective issues.

Proportion: Head is too big, ear is GIANT, hands too large.

Perspective: I see you're trying foreshortening on the arms, but it's not working. You're not quite using the curve of the arm to your advantage. A tip is when starting a drawing, after you get your basic pose worked out with a stick skeleton, flesh in the limbs with very deliberate transparent tubes, just to get the curvature right. I find it's helping me a lot with my foreshortened limbs.

Edit: and one last note on costume design.... the tubular thing going from his crotch up to his neck.... well let's just say you might want to get rid of that

Yeah, the tubular thing... that wasn't always tubular :/ Originally it was just like the leg areas, as in it covered the first layer of his suit... thing, but was still flat over the top. Then It sort of grew.

If I redraw this when I have time, I'll definitely use a reference >.< I suppose all this pic was good for was idea development =p
    Thanks

The main thing I noticed was the head. If this was a super-deformed picture, it could work. That, and the facial expression. He looks confused. Kind of the "mutant beast with half a brain" look, like he's somewhat animalistic. I like the costume. My suggestion: redraw the character in a different pose, possibly displaying some sort of superhero attribute to tell more of a story.
