Seems you still don't take your time on your pieces... the ones you DO take your time with, easily stand out. Have you tried keeping the drawing in different stages at different places? Like, have the face fairly detailed, and a leg or whatever at lower detail... that way you can vary your drawing... might be that it's easier keeping up interest?

Might be that I'm not making sense... Bit tired... hehe...

dcept,funny you should pick that one,because it's actually one i didn't work very careful on...or atleast it didn't feel that way. i'm trying the variation thingy,but then again it's almost the usual outcome that my faces are far better rendered than the rest,and i'm trying to fight that.

anyways,only small pic here...did a dsg (demon vs demon in arena) after a long time again. opencanvas and photoshop,really fun stuff,though quick.

It felt wierd seeing your name all over the forums and never seeing your stuff, so I thought I drop by. Nice stuff!
Your know our anatomy pretty good, but your values could use more contrast. Except in THIS one, you seem to just give everything a flat midtone, without any real shadows or highlights (Like in THIS one). Push the conrast!

Hey man!, nice new sketchbook I liked your old one though, but everything
that is new is nice , so keep this one up!

Alright, I belive your one of these artist who would improve LOTS by spending 10-50 minutes extra on each piece.. I mean, I belive you draw something , and then after a while, when you think you finished, you open a new document/ switching side in your sketchbook... Instead of doing this.. When you think your finished, just draw 5 minutes more on it! JUSTDOIT!
and after that , do something else, DO NOT open a new document! or open a new page in your sb, because if you do, I belive you wont go back to your "recent" piece... therefor, do something else, for , let say, an hour or so, whatever you feel you can offer, then go back to your piece, and refine it!!
heh, my first sb was filled with lots of "impatient shit" (not saying this one is,)
but, after i made my mind up, and started to spend some time, I belive you can see a huge step between my two sketchbooks ( newest and oldest ), What i mainly did , was to spend more time thinking! and not just put the lines down on paper!

You know, when your makeing studies.. You concentrate right ? so it looks right.. If your doing hundreds and hundreds of studies, and then "just draw"
from imagination later, then these studies will help you, but not much! not at all, if you spend some time thinking of what these studies have learnt you, or what you learned by doing studies, I belive your "imagination stuff" would be 10x better...

summary, Spend more time on one piece, do not rush, you HAVE time!

Ok, thats about all the tough love I have today, just for the record
I think your digital approach is working, the figures look solid, just
remember that between the direct light and the shadow there is the
core shadow, that is what creates form in most cases, remember to
add it, I fell your are missing it some times...but the contrasts its
looking good especially on the blue one. 8)

KEEP it UP mate and drop some more updates, and do some ref work too!!

Nice I like the mermaid/naga at the end quiet a bit, but you want to concentrate on the accuracy of your forms, and when your rendering, especially with pencil, make sure you follow the forms with your rendering, the random hatching you have now flattens your images. Also when your painting you need to watch your edges, vance kovacs and justin sweet are a great example of soft vs hard edges, also I really suggest readil alla prima by richard schmid it will help you way loads. One thing you should do it feels like your going too fast slow it down alot and try and be accurate and intentionally slow, make every mark count and youl need 5 not 25 hope that helped

fuckin hell,did i ever slack! gotta change that.
though,ofcourse,it's hard to maintain a steady workflow when you got a wii and new zelda. gahhhh i loves em zelda.*drool*
ok,anyways,i did fairly little drawin in my free time,but alas i'm not feelin too good either. university's frustrating and as a (in)direct result,my art's sucking. no girlfriend either to have as a muse...it's hard being an artist sometimes.
ah well,enough of the ramble,here's some works for ya. personally i actually like the more anime-ish work best,because i had very much fun since a long time doing a finished work again(second one). gotta find me some interesting subject matters so i can keep it up.

I agree with the less posts, more art sentiment that echoes through this thread! I also agree that you should spend more time on your pieces, mind your shading, let it follow the form, you tend to apply it pretty randomly, and that makes your pieces look messy.

You're progressing in terms of line in the last few here... but your shading, like Slash says, still needs more patience and unity... imagine the form when you're shading... not just putting the lines down without regard to the structure they're describing... hope I'm not harsh... hehe... now update!!
