It's better to have a bigger pad when doing life drawings, it's easier to see and control marks, however drawing small does have the advantage of being able to see the shapes easier. Your contour lines are okay, and your consistency with the guy's face is excellent. Proportions are a little off, like on the arms. Take some more measurements, either by measuring with the pencil or feeling the distance by moving over your paper more before laying down marks. The toad would benefit from more research, his contour is cartoony in comparison to the more realistic girl.

that last one, it doesnt feel like she's on the frog more like hovering.
maybe plant the knees more and arch her more?

Lusvell - Thanks for commenting! I appreciate it it!

armando - You're absolutely right about using a bigger pad. I 'm definately going to pick one up before my next drawing session. My proportions are crazy wonky. I usually can't see the weirdness until I get it scanned into the 'puter. Good call on the frog. I short-cutted a little on him. I'll dig up some more reference when I get back to it. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

hurricane - Now that you mention it, she is leaning forward way too much and the legs look half-assed. I'll work on her some more this weekend. Thanks - and I love your sketchbook something fierce!

MattiasA - Thanks dood! I appreciate it!

blacky - Thanks for the comments! I really need to ditch my mechanical pencil! It gives me such a static line. It's just so convienient, ya know? But, no more! The next time I attend a life drawing session I'll look at letting my lines live a little. Thanks again!

I spent the evening photographing more pages from the sketchbook since I don't like the way my pencils scan - the pages get washed out and I end up leveling out a lot of detail in Photoshop. Mayhaps I'll start using a darker lead so I won't have to worry about it so much...

These images all have bright spots from my lamp I was using for lighting so I'm hoping to reshoot these pages sometime this weekend and replace these with new uploads.

Nice speedpaint! The reflections on the pencil look very realistic. Try to pay attention to the head size, they usually look a bit too small.

Keep up doing the great life drawings!

Hey, it's a fellow member with an "M" alliterated sketchbook title!
I love your digital painting style. Very lively and luminous. Your life sketches are also very nice, but some of your figures seem out of proportion, specifically the ladies in post number 10. Also, I'd like to see more of your imaginative sketches, such as the fairy on the frog, if you have any.
    Nice sketchbook.

Moai: Yeah, my proportions are wonky on a lot of the life drawings. I'm going to keep an eye on that in the future. I'll see about getting more of my fantastical stuff up here. In the meantime here's a sketch I slapped color onto:

Here's a pinup for a comic being produced by APE entertainment. There's going to be text running down the left side - that's why the composition is so right side heavy:
