Joey-b, my understanding is that an ethereal stalker would be something that lives in the ghost/phantom world. I always think of ghosts when I see the word Ether, so if I'm wrong, please forgive me! I might give this one a try, but am off on a camping trip most of the week..have to see if I can squeeze it in!

Joey-B: Ethereal= lacking material substance. So something gaseous, ghostly, vaporous, nebulous, incorporeal, intangible. Then of course stalker just means anything that acts like a predator hunting its prey.

Both ScaryPotato and Nexus are correct. In the real world, ethereal usually means something made of mist or vapor, or otherwise non-solid. But in the fantasy world, it usually means some sort of parallel dimension of a more ghostly, spiritual, or incorporeal nature, as opposed to our more solid, physical world. Myself, I'm thinking more in the direction of something that exists on this alternate plane, rather than a gaseous entity. My creature will be somewhat abstract and surreal, and obviously alien. Hopefully my tablet will arrive before the deadline.

The Ghellofosh

The Ghellofosh is a being that can hardly be seen with the naked eye. It stalks drunk people at night and extracts glucose rich fluids from their brains and necks, causing them to have headaches and painfull necks in the morning. It is made from a gass like material and is very fragile. A wave of the hand is usually more then enough to completely annihilate the Ghellofosh. As The Ghellofosh are often in plain view but are mostly mistaken for a blur in one's vision. Only when amplified around a thousand times they become clearly visible.

Oooo, nice title. I'm in. I think I'm going to go for a slightly differnet interpretation, When I read 'stalker' I immediately thought of the word as a description of movement than a predator. Something tall and sinous taking great strides.
Moving back up to my university digs this weekend though, so give me a day or two on the WIP.

Hah awsome topic. I might just have a shot at this one its getting my brain thinking, so many interesting possibilities.
My Idea so far is to have this creature stalk a person when they are near death and then they just pounce on the soul as soon as it enters the ethereal realm somat like that.
