Summons EVIL and Ramon Contini for a weekly challenge.

* Every 2 weeks a full color Final MUST be presented.
1st week : prelimary sketchwork, concepts & idea development.
2nd week : Rendering the image

* Atleast 2 WIP-images MUST be posted untill the end of every 2 weeks.

* Challenge ends when either one of you dies.

If one of the contestants fails to life up to these milestones; the amount
of '10' Euros has to be deposited to the other one's acount within the week.

Completely backing out of this challenge is NO option.

I'm kinda busy, and not I'm digging this rule.

CHALLENGE # 1

TYPE :
Detailled character concept art. Quality must be high enough to be used for promotional purposes.

SEX :
Male.

NAME :
Optional.

SETTING :
Futuristic middle ages (for habitat; think of lava type land, with a few fortified
gardens scattered around the globe, poverty, plague, low self-esteem etc).

CHARACTER BACKGROUND :
Childhood was short for this character, his small hometown was rampaged,
and everybody got killed, except for the children. They were left alive
and abducted so they could be sold to rich warlords, for fighting, or just training material.

One boy managed to escape from this tragedy and found his way to a
community of legendary elders, whom had survived more wars then anyone
could remember. From this day on, he was trained to kill.

These days he doesn’t give a damn about his existence, he ran away in a
rage of rebellion from his masters to join a warlord. Free from any kind of
obligation and responsibility he was now ready to retaliate for the event that
scarred his childhood. Now, with this goal and with warfare imprinted in his
soul, he has become a natural berserker. No fear and no compassion; only
screaming rage focused towards those responsible and those who dare
oppose his Warlord.

INCORPORATED DESIGN REQUIREMENTS :

Weapons & amory :
He owns a classic medieval type weapon with a futuristic touch to it, think: swords, axes, chains, etc.

Fashion :
What ever the artist pleases. As long as it has a medieval edge of some kind.

(Visible) Supplies :
At least one bagpack of somekind, and a bottle of water.

Body Features :
Strong and heavy, yet not fat. A dominant visible Scar must be seen ('where' is optional).

Everything from style, execution, function etc. is up to the artist.

whoi! kick ass concept, I always wanted to do a beserker type of character (I was to lazy to make one), I am going to go all out on this one! surely gets me motivated...

Since the timeline is kinda vague, and I see a diffrent style in my head, I decided to discribe my version of this new middle ages.

oh, and by the way, here is a pic

nevermind the story for now, I will do it tomorrow, dad is sleeping on the couch, and he wakes up with to mutch typing, later

Well, how I myself see this time periods technology, style etc? well it is alot more historical and realistic then anyone else might see it, we all know the middleages existen after the roman empire fell, so I thought it might be neat if the second one would be because of the same sort of thing, but instead of this empire jsut falling, lets make the current superpowers of the world getting in this political powerstruggle around oil, and then WW3 breaks out because of some assasinations made by terrorist, very complex, dont want to hurt my mind over it but it comes down to the following, that around 2010 when this 10 year war (WW3) takes place and basicly goes around each super power destroying itself. Without this, all order was lost, so things are back to basic and warlords instead of kings rule the huge states of the world. Now money has no value anymore and with all this poverty and lack of food recources people try to live in groups, disease fastly spreading, the infected where put in seperate colonies where minimal rations where dropped.

anyway, going a bit far atm.. it basicly comes to this, the world is fucked up, warlords rule the world now and smal scale battles over law, food and merchandise are daily fought. each warlord has their private army, how and why these men fight for these small causes is unknown. but man can they fight.

style influences and how the world would look? I think the movie reign of fire comes closest.. raped rocky land, small fortified gardens owned by warlords scarsly scattered provide the food. this is all is around 50 years after the end of WW3, so we are at 2070, the progress of technology has stopped, armies still own the equipment of 50 years ago, imagine the newer tanks, attack hellicopters, etc.. but in a quite worn out state.
