    Mistersomes Sketchbook!

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker here for quite some time. My name's Alex, I'm from the Philippines.

I just finished art school but they don't teach much actually so I'm mostly self taught. I really don't think I'm ready for the professional world just yet.
So for the mean time, I'm studying on my own. It's really hard though. I need feedback from other artists especially from you guys.

To cut to the chase, here are some of my drawings.

I'm really dying for feedback and criticisms. It's very much appreciated!

Been fascinated with skulls lately. I got bored doing studies.

It just popped out of my mind. I think it's some sort of Death God. I really don't know what it is.

    Any thoughts?

Hey man, really love these sketches. Especially the hand and torso studies, they seem to be sketchy but still nice and clean. There's just something about their style which is brill! And that first sketch with the skull man in a suit is great, love the hand pose and the stocky arms with the thinner body. Can't wait to see more

Yo thanks for stopping at my sketchbook
I see that you try to improve wrist and hand, I think the best way to practice these is to draw the whole arm from references after studying them a bit, just to strenghten them into your memory

Springheeled, thanks man, I visited your sketchbook a while ago and your last post was months ago, are you on hiatus?

Neyut, no prob, I'll try doing more arm studies next time.

I've been gone for almost a week. I was looking for a new tablet since I returned the intuos tablet I borrowed from a friend.
Unfortunately, I'm a little short on money right now so I had to settle for a bamboo, for now.

Some new but not really remarkable stuff.

Used the bamboo tablet for this one. I thought it would be difficult to paint using this tablet but it turned out to be pretty decent actually.

Your rendering is pretty fantastic, your shortcoming might perhaps be your proportions and anatomy, but you're working on that so keep going strong.

    Psychobuddy, thanks!
Xamllew , thank you . And yeah, those two have been really a problem of mine, I tend to forget that proportions really determine the beauty of what you draw.

So far, the bamboo's been very good to me apart from some minor wrist pains.
I studied flesh tones for the first time a couple of days ago. It's been horribly frustrating.

Used some reference pics to get the base color right. After that it's all from imagination.
