This has a nice cute quality to it lol. It makes me smile. Well I will tell you this is going to fit into a certain market of like maybe quirky childrens books or like maybe something commercial? Its not exactly up to par with the realism you need for concept art in games, film, or anything like that. But it does have a likeable quality to it.

But the black shadow does bother me. Its much too dark of a shadow. And there should be some fluffy clouds! Oh one more thing--the highlight which looks like the cow's eyebrow is making him look mad. Turn it to make him look sweet

Thanks for the feedback - here's an update

Changes:
-Increased fill light to lighten sun shadows (however I do like the dark shadows)
-Increased SSS scale to soften creature material (to make it look less plastic)
-Added a small cloud

nice design on the cow and calf

the black areas on the mummy cow are way too black, theyre 100% absorbant so you cant see any detail in them like her jaw or the side of her face. just turn the reflectanec up like 3% on those black areas to give her a nice diffuse sheen on her coat.

theres a big pointless empty space in the forground.
maybe have some more cows, like, grazing peacefully, or lying down in the shade of a tree.






i slapped a cow in the face the other day after a night of heavy drinking. i dont mean i hit a girl (this time), i mean a cow kept waking me up for sleeping in its field and i thought it was an alien or something. bad times.

If you're any good at design, which I am not. Maybe you can find a nice font and design for some type at the bottom? Because it looks like the page of a childrens book and the bottom can have the text. Or maybe its a card that says congrats on the baby or something.
