    Smile Hui's first sketchbook ^^

Hello everyone!Welcome to my first sketchbook! My name is Hui Yinan and I'm from China.I've been learning painting for nearly 3 years.I love to draw but have never studied in art schools, maybe that's why I think the speed of my progress is too slow.I really want to improve my skills and learn knowledge from here,so I decided to post my stuff since today.Any critique is appreciated!
    (Sorry for my poor English!^^)

Wow man, great painting studies on the first post (love the eyes) and I wouldn't worry about speed just worry about the quality of your work.

Thank you guys!I'll persist in doing practice.
Perhaps "worrying about speed" is one of my biggest problem right now. When I draw fast, the quality apparently become lower, just like this one(today's practise)
    Expect feedbacks,thank you guys!

nice eye and ear studies up there! the hands seem quite a struggle though... you can construct the hands just like you construct the bodies to get them right

Great practice! You have a wonderful attention to detail, and I can see you're improving quickly. I especially liked the little owls. (: One thing to notice is how you start a drawing, especially of a human... I'm very guilty of starting off with something "fun" like the face, clothes, etc. and ignoring the body proportions until it's too late. I can tell something is definitely off in the image of the young woman, where her body seems to kind of dissolve after the rib cage. It's always good to take a minute and think about the underlying form of the skeleton, even when drawing quickly.

Thank you guys!So happy to recieve your advices!Natalia Soleil, you're right!"Hand" is really really hard to draw(in my opinion).Maybe I cared about the contour too much than the construction, thank you for pointing it out!
And thank you hziegel! But sorry,I didn't quite catch your point. My faulte, you know,my English is really not good. Could you explain it in a little more detail? Do you mean it looks a little flat around her ribcage?

You already have an amazingly strong start. Your study on post #21 is very good, but the head is a bit to chiseled compared to the rest of the body, make the edges a bit rounder and it will be spot on!

    The studies are really good!
However, do yourself a favour and don't draw with 100% black on white backrgound.
    The contrast is too much.
You tend to make the legs a little too short and the rib cage a little too long.
Nice movement and curves in the poses!

I really need to do some anatomy myself...

Fantastic studies and quick sketches. I love how dynamic your figures are, even the ones which are clearly stationary. I especially like the two girls in post 19, though the face/shoulder/arm of the top one seems off. I'm eager to see more!
