Gandalf the Grey. 3 inches.

Hello friends!

I´m glad to show you my most recent sculpture. This is Gandalf the Grey, a new release from Knight models.

It´s been a great pleasure to sculpt such a famous character from The Lord of the Rings, this time I´ve used sculpey firm for all the drappery and milliput for the portrait. That allows to see the whole shape before start detailing so it´s easier to find and correct any mistake.

It´s 70mm tall (about 3 inches).

what a great sculpt. i worked on the lotr chess set and frankly your sculpt blows that out of the water! its a very good likness and i like the detailing on the fabric treatment, my only comment if i was being uber fussy is the bottom of the beard is a bit raggady (that might be intentional) but its a great sculpt eather way.

Amazing, I agree. The stick seems to be a bit thick tho, it looks quite heavy for an old wizard.

Did you have to use wire mesh for the clothing? Or is sculpey firm really that hard? And how much does the armature cover? Did you have to use wire for the staff?
