    Unhappy Erratic brush pressure problem

I'm having brush pressure problems with my Cintiq 12wx and Photoshop CS5 12.1 x64. My operating system is Windows 7. Basically every few strokes, the brush pressure randomly turns off. This technically started when I switched to a new computer, a Dell with an Intel R CORE i7 processor, but it was so infrequent, it didn't bother me. Now after a recent computer crash, it's gotten much worse. I've seen this problem on other threads here (and in other websites), but nothing I try works. I've tried:

    - Reinstalling the Cintiq
    - Downloading the latest drivers (twice)
    - Downloading the oldest drivers (twice)
    - No 'RECOGNITION MODE' option
    - Removing the utility preferences
    - Shutting down and completely cutting power to the computer for a while
    - Uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop (the OpenGL option was already disabled)
    - Trying to update my CPU (the computer couldn't accept a higher version)

Edit: I have also tried the March driver. It didn't work.

At this point I don't know what to do. I've emailed customer service, but it's going to be a few days before I get an answer.

If there are any other suggestions, please let me know.

Does the tablet light up when the pen comes close to it?

It could be that you have a faulty pen.

Did you turn off the Tablet PC preferences in Windows 7?

If you mean the Tablet PC Input Service, yes, and that didn't work.

Is it possible that my VGA adapter is buggy?

I've been having the same pressure sensitivity problem with my Cintiq 12wx. I've been searching and testing various solutions for 3 weeks now and nothing seems to work. I have noticed that the problem seems to be with the combination of Windows 7 64-bit, Photoshop CS5, and the Cintiq 12wx.

Same setup here - Windows 7 64-bit, PS CS5, and Cintiq 12wx. Exact same problem and I've been doing everything I could possibly find online that might eradicate the problem. Some solutions worked better than others, but in the end, the problem is still there.
The recent driver update didn't do anything to alleviate the issue either, urgggghhh, so irritating! =(

    Hey Shadowolfincubi,

I ended up reverting back to a much earlier driver for my Cintiq and that seems to have fixed the problem. I believe it was the 6.1.2-5 driver. Hope that helps.
