A bunch of random sketches

I'm 17. I've been drawing a long time but I only got serious about it two years ago. Anyway, I've been lacking motivation to keep going. My siblings say I haven't improved since I was 13. I know its not true but it makes me doubt my progress and hurts my motivation. I feel pretty inferior here, haha. I've been intimidated to post but now I figure I'll do it anyway just for the hell of it.

Hi there dude (or dudette? is that your fingernail on the last pic?)! Randomness is a great thing but at the same time you should do some studies of basic stuff that'll make your random drawings look much better. If you lack motivation you just go through this forum and look at other ppl's work and become envious - it works really great for me welcome here and go on working. show your siblings - and yourself at first that you can.

Makes me feel worst actually. ^^; It makes me feel like I'm too far behind and just want to quit. I like to think that I'm in the middle and I am so not in the middle at conceptart. I mostly use da because of this. Haha.

*grin* At seventeen, you've got a ton of time to figure out how to draw. Trick is wanting to, and then doing it.

Doodle more, and shade your doodles. Work out what you like to draw and do a lot of it, over and over again. Reference everything, draw from photos, draw from as much life as you can manage to sneak in if you're scared of somebody noticing. Random strangers on the bus can be very nosy if you pull out a sketchbook, trust me! Curl up and block the view, it drives them crazy.

But mostly, draw. Really, you can't get worse and not doing it is the way you don't get better.
