I love the fluidity of your animation and that perpetual motion effect in your character's movements. Good stuff!

thanks, I do like doing reasonably fluid animation even though inbetweening that kind of style can make you loose the will to live sometimes. most of the stuff in the reel is from my graduation film which with any luck I'll have up at some point soon as well.

Great animation.How much time did it take you to finish the first scene?

Thanks, do you mean the shot of the girl pulling on the guys head? That one took a while just because I ended up doing several passes, first really rough, then cleaning up and inbetweening the bodies of the characters. Ended up doing the overlaping animation of the head and hair straight ahead once the timing was sorted ( hair animation can be a real pain) and then the steam coming out of the guy's head at the end. Can't remember exactly how long it all took in the end, really wasn't a particularly efficient way of working but I hope it paid off. This is fantastic! I've been meaning to post a comment but been so busy with deadlines. The motion is beautiful. I think my favorite part is the kid at 0:30 - 0:33. The way he slows down and turns to look at the guy hanging is really cool. It reminds me of some of the stuff from The Animatrix. Especially the shorts about the kids who find a "glitch" in the abandoned building. I'll see if I can find a link.

Thanks for the comments, It's funny you should mention that section of the animatrix, Koji Morimoto who directed that one is a massive inspiration for me. I just love little toches in beyond of things in the background that just look a bit weird, such a great tone, nice to knonw another fan, If you haven't seen this one its really worth checking out
