Very cool stuff.
My favorite are the knights. They are simple, yet epic.

Thank you everybody!
It's not intentional, but still true! Pretty logical though if you know the background; Moonstone is a multiplayer game for (up to) four players all playing knights, and in the original Amiga game they all looked the same (see link below) with only color to seperate them - just like Castle Crashers!
Given that the premises are the same (four knights seperated primarily by color) it makes sense that they give off the same vibe.
Original Quest Knights: http://www.moonstonetavern.co.uk/knights.htm
The only freedom taken here is to make them differ slightly in shapes, marking that they are from four different regions of the same land.![]()
It's not showing any of them for me, is there a link with them posted somewhere else?
That's strange, seems people have had trouble seeing the attachments..
Well, nothing some image linking can't solve I guess - The imagees are also posted at various online galleries (DA, cghub etc) so let's borrow some of their bandwidth!

nice! awesome work. this for a game or what?
Glad you like it!
Yes, it's for the potentially greatest game of all time.![]()
Great work like the tone and color is this for a game or movie how do you go about creating color like that what softwaer do you use intrested in creating my own
Thank you very much!
All these images were created in photoshop using a wacom tablet (like the majority of art in these forums, versions doesn't matter much) and the techniques used to create them vary between me and Fred as well as from image to image.
My recommendation to you - if you have recently started doing digital art - is to start create your images in black and white; and when you're done apply color through overlay-layers.
This way you won't have to juggle values and colors at the same time, which can be a great help in the beginning - or atleast set up a base to paint on top of.
It's a very common technique - I'm sure there are many tutorials about it!
Hope that helps!
so cool~~I like it
Awesome work, I like the textures and lighting!
i actually wooped out loud when i saw this, played the hell out of the original back in the daySolid work.
Thank s guys! Much appreciated!
(We really did try to keep stay pretty true to the - awesome - original designs/settings, focusing more on execution/presentation)
Ah, someone remembers the old wonder!
I was starting to think it had been lost in favor of whatever the post amiga-generations played when they were young.. It really was/is one of the greatest game-night (game-knight?) games there is, still today! Thanks!![]()
wow i love the retro feel! and the knight being fested on on the savannah is striking. aweosome works!

I´m late to the party as usual... Just thought I´d say that I had so much fun painting on this project and thank you very much for taking the time to look at the stuff (and commenting too ofcourse)
mangabiz> There is no simple answer really. My images were created using 3 different versions of wacom boards and 2 different versions of ps. All depending on which computer I was using at the moment. As for technique I often, and I think I did the main bulk of images in this project this way, start of in black and white and start adding color as overlay-, multiply- or whatever looks nice enough-layers a while into the painting.
very nice!
Thank you, tUs! Glad you like it. A lot of love went into it![]()
Wohoo! How could I've missed this! Make more pictures happen. Good job guys.
Hahah thanks, Brad.
My favorite is the elder next to the skull candle
Wow! I loved Moonstone! Will You participate in making a remake by chance?
I think it was one of the best games when it comes to the mood and concept-art'ish side. I loved the skull-headed creepy monsters from the mudlands, but I must say it was more scary in the game, improve!![]()
Great work-- I really like the 'Henge-y one at the top!
Mission Control: "Buckaroo, The White House wants to know is everything o.k. with the alien space craft from Planet 10, or should we just go ahead and destroy Russia?"
Buckaroo Banzai: "Tell him yes on one and no on two."
Mission Control: "Which one was yes, go ahead and destroy Russia... or number 2?"
great stuff! i really love that african savannah looking image with the beasty having his breakfast. that one rocks more than fraggle city.

awesome! just awesome!
I had to register just to express how much I love these images. I adored this game as a kid, I can't believe my parents let me play it with the "Gore"-setting proudly set to "on", but they did. Fantastic work! I sincerely hope you cross paths with some game developer, eager to make a sequel to this classic.
