Window Painting Advice

Well first off sorry if this in the wrong forum since I wasn't sure where to put it.
I have been asked to paint a scene on windows at my local library but I am not sure what to charge them? Any advice or suggestions since they want a grand total and not an hourly rate or anything. And I can get the supply for pretty cheap but I still want make it responsible for me and them.

It's likely a temporary display, so I would figure out an hourly rate, and then try to estimate how long it will take you to do. I did window-painting once and it was surprisingly time-consuming since the paint doesn't often bond well to the glass. Or you could go with a flat rate. Consider your supplies, difficulty of the design and how large they want you to paint it.

Ok, thank you. I have been testing it out on my windows and it kind of a pain so far with paint staying on the glass.

This is my third year in business as a professional window painter, and I had tweaked my rates several times to reflect various factors such as cost of materials, travel time, etc.

Some of my competitors in the area just play by the ear so to speak.

They may quote somewhat lower as they only work from pre-set designs. I also may be pricing higher as I try to be a truly 'green' alternative for window painting.
