    Nils and Morten Today

Hi, here is mine artwork for Next-Gen MAGIC challenge on cgtalk.ru. The task was to create heroes of fairytales in modern world. I have chosen main characters from the Wonderful adventures of Nils book by Selma Lagerlof to illustrate the folowing story:
Morten, poor house goose, becomes unpleasantly huge one, this time having lost habitual shape instead of Nils. Permissiveness as consequence of invulnerability, hopelessness on never-ending existence, transforms eternally young characters into uniform, artful, imperceptible, vain and tragical tandem. Scandals, intrigues, reserve, influence, threats, lie, murders - that is the environment of Nils and Morten. Everyone know about them, but met only the few. Sometimes decision-making of any level goes under the control of the boy on a goose. It is no wonder that for a long time there is a hunting for this two impudent fellows but it has no sucsess. As in the ancient times Nils liquidates "rats" and always remains in a hat when the king removes it.

Highly dynamic composition and great concept. Amazingly executed and I particulairly like the feathers and the feathers, a delight to look at.

Is the fighter trying to take them out? I don't understand the conflict.

Love this! You can really feel the moonlight mood. Great rendering. Crazy cool character design. I have to agree that the jet swoop is a bit confusing. Are the two little splashes from it or the goose? I also wonder if the little bit of saturation on the distant city is a mistake. It draws your eye over. I would have tried using it on the jet instead. Still, a real pleasure to look at. Great work!

Another excellent piece. I can't help thinking it's too monochrome and would benefit from more colour variation but other than that it's A1

    That is absolutely freaking cool!
