Looking for mentor(s) to help me plan an art-workout regimen

Hi there, I'm an art student in need of some help and a boost in motivation. I need some folks to help me plan out a 'basic training bootcamp' course to do on my own under my own discipline over holiday break, so I can improve my drawing skills/stay sharp even before next semester begins.

What this means is basically mapping out each day what I'll be doing. I.E. 'tuesday, draw and renders basic shapes for 4 hours, 3 hours torso anatomy' etc. On that note I am totally okay with going 'back to basics' because I really need to, quite frankly. In any case, check my sketchbook in my sig to get an assessment of where my drawing skill is.

Anyway, I'm hoping in doing this I get two big things; consistancy and discipline.

ANY help or advice is MUCH appreciated.

I think this is a good idea. If you divided up your study days between doing say 4 hours worth of life drawing and contruction studies and then allowed your self 2 hours worth of imaginative play and creation it would balance out your pathe to new growth.

You mentioned using loomis in voicechat for construction in the thread so I'll do that. The other things you mentioned please remind me of here because it was really helpful.

Status report: Been doing loomis studies almost daily now, with bridgeman and vanderpoel mixed in.

I try to time my 'serious' study for around 3-4 hours at a time and my 'play' drawing for around 1-2 hours time.

The play stuff I've mainly been doing is watching films like the incredibles and kung fu panda while drawing the character poses I see onscreen.
