This is something you will come back several times: http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm

But right now this is more urgent: http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/tuts/process.jpg

Copy the process from the latter bug tutorial, that is how i started into digital. Now the most important thing is to make time for the drawing and make it daily, maybe after some meal you have time to draw every day?

Get a sketchbook and draw in there even if you feel like it goes horribly wrong, you will not get anywhere with this thing and life sucks in general. Draw even then, only way to get good is practise and it means daily practise. I don't allways draw every day but i really try and i usually draw 6 days a week.

basics is the way to start, posemaniacs 30s or 1 minute skeches. http://www.posemaniacs.com/

Good luck, you have potential but now it is all up to you, how hard skin you make and how you will accept the disappointments in the road ahead and just keep going never stopping to gain the good stuff.

When the road gets hard, the hard stays on road

    It all up to you

hey man, you got potential here, keep practicing.

Bout the apple, it's kinda good, but maybe you should zo allot more greyvalues drawings in pencil to really get the hang of it, because painting is like the final step.

Looking forward to seeing you improve.

hey yay, THANKS FOR STOPPING BY MY SB!!!

Nettle_Mountain: wow man, thanks for taking the time, I really appreciate it!
I did as you said, copied the tut, already got a sketchbook (I totally hate it!) and looked into itchsudios.com and posemaniacs.com; thanks for the links!

yes, I wanna draw every day and it should be possible, but I know myself (at least a bit) and I tend to be a bit lazy…but being a member of CA.org is some kinda motivation to me ! I`ll just try to post something every day!

right now I`m working on some poses on posemaniacs and its going horribly wrong!!
anyway, I`ll post some results later today!I promise!

Fox1987: yeah your right, I`ll push the traditionals further and maybe go through some tuts as well! if I see some progress I`ll post again

    cheers!

    Unhappy

as promised here are some posemaniacs ( 30s;60s;90s)

I found a weak point: anatomy!
when I started with 30s my brain had some kind of overload and got stuck…
but even the 90s are still weird… this will be my "after-school-program"!

I think I make to much lines?!?!? can anyone help?

anyway…here they are ( there are more, but this shows enough…)

hmmm, forget making really accurate muscle shape defining and concentrate on getting all the body shape as overall form to the paper in time

Do a few more tomorrow and few more after that, you will be surprised i think after few days of this

Most of Loomis' books (which are from the 1920s and on) are out of print and very rare to come by in a store. If you do a search on CA or google, you'll see that there are PDF versions around somewhere....not that I suggest that you *whisper* download a torrent....

Ahem. Anywho, if you stil lcan't find it, PM me and I have the file. I printed the whole thing out and created a handbound version which is awesome.

Keep up your studies! Check out my SB too if you want!

Hey. Nice studies. .) I think the last one has perspective issues? Like the last pillar is too small, but maybe it IS smaller than the others.
Anyway. Keep it up and thanks for yelling in my thread. (goes back to making watercolor thumbnails...)

hey bro thanks for stopping by
one thing that sticks out as odd is that the pillars do not have unified design, and also at the top of the second pillar the bridge type thing seems to angle down so the perspective is off a bit I think
but keep it up mate you are improving, its a long road to be sure but you are well on your way

hey, thanks for commenting in my sketchbook. On that last one, be careful not to go into details too soon. Use an even bigger brush and fill in the major blobs. Squint your eyes and focus primarily on value, then colour and shape. When it comes to painting fur/hair, the silhouette and maybe some indications inside will do the trick. Personally, using a 1px brush as sugested in the c&c section is just a waste of time, but I'm no expert. And remember to fill in all the values first, so you can compare them to each other. Good luck

    Keep it up!

Good stuff man, improvement allready there!

I really liked: The yeti on first page upper left corner, dinosaurs attacking in enviroment and the guy with goggles.

    good job!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

little tip what you could try to flesh out your sketches into more 3d shapes, other is to use reference for drawing humanposes when you don't know how it goes, or make a practise sketches using poses from photographs (if you don't do this allready) this is what i should do more but im bit of lazy so i usually just use my head (which is not a bad thing, you propably have to do little bit both)

supermessy paintover-----edit later, other way to do this is offcouse just shadow using the line, like practising traditional line shadow drawing style, experiment! see what will fit for you
