I realy like the high-renaissance style, lenordo da vinci and Rafael for example.

I hope you like my sketches a bit. Please add critics and comments

dude. keep it comin.
try studying some forms/shapes and Anatomy will really help to. studies is the way to go, try noting where shadows falls on faces and objects like you did above (second one) and really just draw all you can

My advice whould be for you to make some drawings from life instead of using magazines. Just doing some self-portraits on the mirror will help you to get a better understanding of the volume and shapes that compose the face. Pictures in magazines are flat, so you won't learn much from them.

And keep the updates comming

thanks for the advice, i'm going to draw life much more, also becaus i like it very much. I'm also going to start with Anatomy. That realy helps drawing a good picture. have any idears or tips for me? please post them.

draw something ULTRA-COOL. like sum big machines, or beautiful nude girls, or weapons and explosions! or dark fantasy stuff! or distant landscapes on faraway planets!

I think your value range might be holding you back, lighter lights and darker darks. The more value you have the more depth and pop you can give to anything in general.

hi, its a good start and you have the best influences. I would suggest trying your hand at pure line drawings from life and then move onto the careful rendering once youv worked on your line a bit. I wish i studied raphael and co when i was 15 i think i would be a lot better than i am now.

Nice stuff! The only thing I can say is keep on drawing, each picture is an improvement. Don't be afraid to copy the big artists out there, there's nothing wrong with borrowing a thing or two!
I know it helped me alot, watching all the cool dragons, trying to copy how the artists made their scales and their dragon anatomy.

in answer to your question in my sb im 21. But what i meant was that I have only been seriously studying drawing and painting for the last year or so in order to hopefully do it for a living one day. Although i have drawn all my life and always wanted a career in art i havent put in the work neccessary to progress untill more recently. Thats why I think its great that your studying the old masters at your age as you can use them as a benchmark and make real progression instead of living in a dreamworld like i did when i was 15.

your right though theres always time to draw the things you feel like as well, its all learning

Hey! I really want to see more of your drawings, it seems you are very serious with the details! I think you got to sit one day and try to hold the pen more lightly, don't worry there are plenty of paper in the world ! Keep it up I like your drawings! (dont spread the pencil shades work with lines)

Hi Sebastian!
Very nice drawings, I especially like the dragon.
I'm not sure what's wrong with the last head there, but you can
1) hold it in front of a mirror,
2) or if you have a graphics software, make the portrait a new, half transparent layer and put it over the Raphael painting. like tracing paper. then you can see if you have copied the lines 100% accurate, or where they are off.

have you tried a self portrait from the mirror already?

in answer to your question on my thread (how to draw out of your head?). I can draw from my head in a fairly limited style and its usually hit or miss if i get an accurate looking figure or face although i have noticed the more life drawing i do the better my imaginary drawings get which i suppose is obvious. theres a lot of talented people great at drawing from life and from imagination on this site so have a look at their work if you havent already, mentler being one of the many. although im no where near as good i do know that if you learn anatomy then you will know where to place awkward things like cheekbones etc next time you draw from your head, also continuously practice drawing from your head and always make concious decisions about what your doing as opposed to doodling. sorry to ramble

Too bad your parents won't finance the Art School. But hey you can learn everything you need from books or with the help of the fantastic conceptart.org community. You can find the best international artists here and the best part: You can ask every art related question you have and you can get feedback to your work. ... who needs the Art School!? hehe

Yeah... this is the way to go.
Studying poses is something you should do all the time. (I should too btw )

Maybe you find the following tips helpful:
Do a hundred of those poses and then do a hundred of different faces and then go to the next area you want to improve on. Repeat this whenever you have some time left. You will develop a 'sense' for the 'right' stuff. Parallel you can work on techniques and rendering. Do not try to color from the beginning... concentrate on the basics first.

You've got a good start there, everything's looking fine. Just keep on working hard and you'll see some great results. As for the art school, I think it would be a pity not to go there if you really want to..
