heya, my name is fredrik, you can check out my sketchbook or website for my stuff, both are in my signature.

I guess my largest interest is within fine art and illustration, but I never ignore other art forms as well. My goal is to just make it as an artist, what ever i end up doing, it's quite impossible to tell at this time.
I never had a lot of confidence, but i'm making sure to dedicate the major part of my life to some kind of visual art.

    thanks for looking!

Stuff i made, that turned out alright.
#1: I like this, i like how it turned out, the looseness and the composition. It's based loosely on a photo from my cellphone i took one night while partying.

#2: This one i just like for the composition and the vivid colors.

#3: I love sketching environments. This is a quite boring piece, but i like the movement in it, and i remember having a total blast making it.

Stuff i love. This could be really hard to pick out, but then i realised that hopefully everyone understands that it's impossible to cram everything i love about art in one single post. These are really just three random images of stuff that I loved for a long time, pieces that never really stopped exciting me.

#1: Edgard Degas, "Orchestra Musicians". I remember the first time i stumbled upon this image and i was just amazed by the color scheme and mix of details between pretty damn tight rendering and looser stuff. I think it's rarely you see a piece that can have these two things work together.

#2: An illustration made by Gezfry for the clothing label Evisu (i think). What's there not to like about this image? I love the composition and the use of just lines and simple shapes, and it reminds me how less is so often much more in art.

#3: This is the cover for the cd "slow riot for new zero kanada" by the band Godspeed you! Black emperor. I hope this is ok, but really, this record is so amazing even after listening to it hundreds of times, it gets me going. You can listen to it here

    Stuff i dislike.

#1: ARC (www.artrenwal.org) is a GREAT resource. But their attitude and "Philosophy" throws me off so much, taking on this stance that all modern art is crap, "Abstract art is not art, and certainly not abstract". Go to the site to read up some more on it if you'd like.

#2: Piero Manzoni's "Artist's shit". It's canned shit. It could be hella fun, but it's kinda ridiculous , along with alot of his other art as well. Conceptual art can have some really nice ideas, some of which i really like, but this is an example of something that's just stupid.

    Week #2

I really want to make a graphic novel some day. I have this vague idea, it would be very short. It would center around three characters, a girl named bella, a boy and a sparrow. I guess the image below is of the boy and the sparrow.
