You're fourteen, it's perfectly acceptable to be terrible. You won't be starting art school for another four years or so, and in that time, if you use it wisely, you should be quite a ways from terrible. From that to amazing will be a much shorter trip.

Hey Green, check out the link in my sig called "Concept Art 101". :-)
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Yes. When you first pick up a violin and try to play it doesn't sound very good. It takes time and practice and passion to master any art form.

Fourteen? You're a babe in the woods! You've still got a ton of time to soak it all in before you even touch college.

Do realize that you will also be your own harshest critic so while it may be amazing, you might not think so. The best thing to do is to keep sketching and drawing constantly. Look at other artists and be influenced by them; see how they made a certain thing look right and try to emulate them. It takes work but if it's something you love to do, it's not impossible at all.

Do realize that being an artist also involves a lifetime of learning. It never stops. Even after being in the industry all of these years I still draw voraciously for fun and trying to soak up all sorts of new art & techniques. As an artist you'll always be evolving and growing. You're at a wonderful time in your life to really dive in if you want it.

    Good luck.
