    Silent Hill 3

Anyone else pick up this gem? I havn't gotten into the game more then 20 minutes. But the soundtrack is flat out amazing. I've listened to it 4 times already.

the Silent Hill games are the only thing that tempts me to get a PS2 over a GameCube. Of course, there is Resident Evil on GameCube....what to do what to do...

I just rented and played it ... I am however the most snobby and picky person when it comes to games .. It didn't grip me I thought the "carnival" stuff in the beginning was a bit cliche and trite.. and the monster designs were too rich and "in your face"... (and I didn't like the rock & rool love song entro)

In my opinion the second one had the creepyest creatures, they woren't overdone.. just faint images of humans... and it doesn't get better than the first part in SH2 where you make that long hike on the dirt trail and can hear footsteps beyond the fog.. ooohhh chilly stuff..

i'd kill to see some of the concept art that went into those creatures. well, then again, i'd just kill anyways. for money, food, sex, whatever.

I saw some stuff at gamespot, some beuty renders of some of the characters, but what i wanna see is them goddamned gooey creatures! ooey gooey! i needs a bloodsoaked wet nurse!

If you find any art for the game, and are feeling particularly charitable, share. please?!:chainsaw:

okey doke, i didn't want y'alls to think i was just gonna beg and beg and do nuthin to contribute, so... here's some stuff i managed to dig up.

i played it for 2 minutes and got really upset with the controls, lighting, camera angles... i know they are trying to sell a dark and spooky game but if i can't see what is gnawing on my leg i just get frustrated(yes i had the flashlight on..)

    HA!

That's what the director wants.. the frustration of missing the door when you're trying to escape...

also.. two min in is a scripted death.. the character is supposed to get attacked

If it's any concelation.. I was just too scared to play by myself

    wow. freaky.

the game looks amazing. the textures look incredible, and the monsters (the big fat one's my favorite) are really gruesome as well. very well done. only gripe would be the shits-n-giggles demo-tape style soundtrack and the voice acting. oh and the puzzles. the puzzles sucked too. i just wanted to get creeped out, shoot things and witness violent acts which result in much bloodshed and mayhem. ah oh well, maybe i can Gameshark the thing so i don't have to go hunting for walnuts and nutcrackers and red shoes.

Has anyone here tried Fatal Frame? It's in a similar fashion as Silent Hill. Not as dark (visually) as SH so you can make out what's around you. Also like SH, there is some really freaky shit goin’ on! Not so much gory monsters, more ghosts than anything else.
Don't hear many people talk about this game, but if you're a fan of SH and games like Clock Tower, try this one out. It's been out for a while now so I think you could pick up a used one for pretty cheap. Definitely one to rent.

Oh, and don't be put off that you have to take pictures of the ghosts to 'kill' them. It's harder than it seems.
