    Sketches from my comic book

So here they are, model sheets for some of the characters done with pencil and a brush marker...back when I was drawing these, I was trying to come up with a type of face I wanted to assign to a character, so there's a few on each page-I couldn't really decide...

I only see one image, but from what I see, I really like it. Is Peter Chung an influence? I ask because those eyes remind me of the Aeon Flux series. They have their own style of course, but combined with the angles of the face and the longer nose, it reminds me of Chung's work. Really nice and clean. More?

    **Edit**
I just went to your other sketchbook and answered my own question Great stuff and really fluid lines.

good work !! Too bad the links in the first post don't work for me.

edit: after refreshing the page, they do show. Lots of character in the last 2, the first one is a little sketchy and looses definition because of it, I think.

    Dorotea

    Agelaos, thanks

NightVision, you're right, I think...that character never got enough attention and definiton, really.

Anyway, here's another pencil sketch, although it really belongs to Finally Finished section, I think...and I remember thinking "wow, it's finally finished", when I was writing the date in the bottom right corner... so here it is:

really nice works, you have great inking style, is good to see this type of b&w works(reminds me old european comics especially from italy, like hugo pratt and guido crepax, and also the argentinian comics from 30-60's).
you have comics pages done? i would like to see that.

    kepp it up

I particularly like the studies of your female character in your first post.

The strong and confident lines you used for the main part of her body, and the silhouetted hair and clothes are really appealing. I also really like the detail you went into in her face.

t.m0, thanks actually, there are some finished pages on my "finally finished"
thread, but it's an excerpt that happens later on in the story...I'm still working on the first few pages of the comic, because I started off digitally, changed my mind half way, and started doing it on paper , using watercolor and guache...so this comic is a bit of a mess, really...I find it very hard to get organized and sit down and finish it already... It'll be finished, but let's say...someday Well, in a nutshell, it's about a group of friends who stumble upon a magical object , then get pulled into solving a mystery concerning it...

Andreas, thank you! When you say insight...are you talking about the storyboard? The story (synopsis) for this comic was written by a friend of mine, and I designed the characters...so basically the storytelling is originally my friends', and since I'm developing the script, I have to say I'm still struggling with the storyboard...it's not an easy job, and not something that's very presentable, unless you'd like to see tiny thumbnails for every page . But if there's anything specific you'd like to know, please feel free to ask me...

Claire D, thanks I find it very inspiring to design and think about female characters...easier than inventing the male characters...guess it's because I am female..but nevertheless, thank you for your inspiring comments!

iceman, thank you...took about 2 weeks with a 2B pencil, one 2H pencil, and a protective cotton glove I'm left-handed, so it's easy for me to smudge what I've already drawn, 'cause naturally my hand is moving from left to right when I draw...

Thanx for stopping by!! Actually, Peter Chung influenced me very much, I love the angular lines on Aeon Flux...
