but yeah this guy is a soldier from the nuke areas... got some hits during the chaos... armor smashed tried to survive... pollution all around. he was exposed heavily to radioactive shiiit and got some extra muscles and some left totally... trying to find replacements for lost body parts and trying to find better and better like upgrading himself... just trying to live

    Here's my final:

    Word, my pencils have arrived:

The little girl is like a super tinkerer and she's cobbled together a big bear bodyguard to protect her in the wastes. Starting this week I've been trying to work on my perspective skills (which altogether have been stagnant. Lots of floating character disease, hack cough). So yeah, trying to make the environment as interesting as the characters in it. Pardon the dust...

From the makers of Honeycomb and Fruity Pebbles comes new Post Apocalypse. Nuke tested, mother approved.

deftonys, for a second I hoped the game you mentioned STALKER was related to the film: http://dryden.eastmanhouse.org/films/stalker/
but probably not. Pardon the passing meme...

Great, I love this kind of topic. Who doesn't? I predict there will be a lot of entries again, this week. I'll be disappointed if I can't find time for it.

I saw Craig Mullin's concept art for the new Fallout game. Fantastic stuff.

Perfect timing as I've been in a apocalyptic frame of mind. Finals week does that to me, you know.

Since my new goal is to complete at least, four weeks in a row of CHOW - I. Must. Do. This.

Finished! Included a profile view to show the scaring on his face.

He was only a child when they came. No one knows (or remembers) when the outbreak started. They came though, swarming through the cities. His family was devoured. He survived by pure luck, overlooked by the wandering hoard. When they left, he learned to take care of himself. He started gathering, starting a new home with a few other local survivors. They had power, water, everything. Then they got lazy. A new wave of the walking dead came. He was so scared, he ran. He realized that a settlement would always leave itself open to the creatures. So he started wandering, living off the land. From time to time he would come across a zombie but he learned how to fight them off. He even learned how to treat the wounds so the virus wouldn't spread. The treatment would only stop the spread, the location of the wound would eventually scar horribly, as it it was dead flesh. When he lost his hand, he fashioned a device to hold a shotgun and bayonet, fired by a triggering mechanism that locked into his arm muscles.

We continued to gather things to himself. When he would come across a settlement of survivors, he would raid them at night, taking things he wanted. He would eventually lure the undead to the site, causing chaos amongst the people while he gathered more and took advantage of the women. Sometimes, if the situation was grim, he would join the fight against the undead. But if escape was easy, he would let the zombies destroy the settlement. He has no regard for human life and sees it only as something to take advantage of. All he cares about is what he can get from them, what he could pick clean, what he could scavenge!

mice topic, every week CHOW is giving me a realization that i still have many things to learn......... anyway this is my brainstorming

maybe I'll go with the idea of that the scavenger is some kind of an archaeologist or something similar with that type, so i incorporate / combine some 'ancient' element mixed with futuristic suit

    finished:

    ...finished...

    Description

In the end it was the results of cataclysmic global warming which brought the human race to the edge of extinction. Those who were left were the isolated, self sufficient remnants of our vast civilisation. Over time they congregated to form ragged, nomadic settlements. Pitted against an incredibly harsh, changeable climate, they had to travel vast distances on foot, carrying their scavenged, make-shift settlement on their backs. The stilts came about in order to speed up the process of covering these huge distances on foot, when wearing stilts one stride measured almost four metres. These people developed huge, powerful leg muscles, whilst in motion their arms hung crumpled at their sides, their posture bent and hunched from the huge weights they had to carry on their backs.

Final stuffs been posterised. check it!

The future is basicly the same thing like the Ol Wild West (only smellyer), this guy walks the earth looking for landmines/ prenuke-wepons and granades, later he sells them to the local spacebay pirates. Right now he's imagening what thoes ol mini Uzis from before the Nuke-Apocalypse must have felt like (there really hard to come by these days).

    Rough story:
"Many years from now, after a great nuclear war,the once united city states of the East Royal Continent now are at war against each other.
The army of Neo-Suiyan is using it's men for heavy fighting.
Therefore the quest for food is left to the children. The army uses special units for training children to hunt for food in the barren wastelands of the mongolian north. These units have access to the ancient hangars. There, there are resting the "Iron Horses",exoskeletons used by Dragoon Knights of a former era.
The Neo-Suiyan army is training children between ages of 12-16 who are not yet ready to go to fulltime war to pilot the "Iron Horses".
    They are called Scavenger Knights."

    Final

New rough sketch. I really need to resist the temptation to jump straight into final execution and spend more time thumbnailing. New resolution: I don't touch my stylus for the next two days...

Update 5/17: I was thinking about alternative conveyances today. I expect to see a good deal of shopping carts springing up, and I wanted to do something different. I considered a rolling hand truck, or maybe one of the modified motorcycles that people around here use to pick up recyclables. Then, this afternoon, I was standing in the subway, looking at an ad with a big picture of a bridge over a river, and it gave me an idea. At first I was going to go with a basic raft or barge, but after doing a little research, I settled on something with a little more personality.
