Smile "Jigoku Shojo" Cosplay - Rough Copy 1.01

I got this cosplay photo and I decided to make a copy of it as a practice. I wish I can spend more time on it, any critique is welcomed and aprreciated. Too bad I don't know who the girl in the photo is (she cos a whole series of "Jigoku Shojo" and the results are fascinating and after seeing her photos I don't even want to read the manga anymore)

Oh, the 2nd update has been posted, it's here:

should find a better ref, the over exposed face won't help u.
    don't use smudge tool!
don't cut off the hands, they're important, and yea, i konw they aren't in the picture, but you should use a pic that has em in it.

if you line up the perspective lines on the face they don't match up.
ur values don't work that well too, don't try to copy the image entirely, i wouldn't go pure black on the shirt.
try adding a midtone on multiply ontop of all the clothes to push it back, and a light value on the background. the white of the skin'll pop out more.

nice work so far... try paying attention to line weight, though. you've treated the hair with plenty of detail, but then as the eye travels down the picture, you've got really sort of indifferent/too-heavy lines to establish very delicate parts like the sleeve cuffs. you dig? keep practicing, and as said above, try and find photo refs with better value contrasts, don't go for ones like this where the whites are blown out and fuzzy.

Thank you for the tips --- the whole series of her photos are all modified so they can give you the sense of fantasy --- the charter she cos is not human lol --- anyway I will keep those tips in mind and work on it some more...

I'm not sure, but something makes this seem smudgy and scratchy at the same time. Try using larger brushes set at higher opacities. Also check your values, in some places you hav it black where it's not that dark at all.

First of all I merged the threads, there's no need to start another.
Secondly, as has been pointed out already, you won't get much by working from such drastically retouched reference.
