Umm well here goes, hoping having a sketchbook will help me practice daily...I'll start off with my more recent CA stuff and my first daily work.

Today's image:
Had a lot on today so I'm hoping tomorrow's will be better.
Well -today was bad and the picture's worse. Maybe a visual record of embarrasment will act as an encouragement.![]()
Ref'd from an anatomy book.
A WIP for this weeks CHOW:
Day 2 updated the crop and worked on the hood.
Worked on the gun and a few other bits.
Whoops missed a day - guess I'll do two tomorrow.
Final for the chow, all the time I had to work on it unfortunately - roll on next week.
Graphuji, I don't do digital work, so I'm probably the wrong person to crit yor Red Riding Hood,- but there's something wrong with her right arm. I don't think she could physically GET her right shoulder that far back when her left shoulder is already pulled back and her body is twisted like that.
Mind you, my husband's party trick used to be to insist that women could touch right elbow to left behind their back. We can't; but it does do "interesting" things to the female shape..... LOL!
I do like your work, and I look forward to seeing more.
Thanks for the comment alesoun, I actually got someone to pose for the position so I think it's my poor lighting on the right arm that makes it look further round than it should be. Something to watch out for next time!
I like them all; but particularly the last one. I take it it's inspired by Liberty Design?
Hey, you've got some interesting works there, I especially like the girl in the red hood. I think in your 2nd work, the subject looks too blended with the background though. Perhaps it's because of the same colours and tones used and the background and subject looks equally busy. But it could be just me though. Keep it up!
Thanks for the comments everybody - all c&c are gratefully received! The swirling patterns came from a mixture of the Casiology advert campaign and some good old fashioned paisley fabrics.
Today's ref'd rather badly from an anatomy book. I can tell I've got the waist position wrong and there's not enough bulk on his legs. Must remember to draw what I actually see.
Some quick thumbnails for this weeks CHOW 'Fallen Valkyrie'
First WIP...
Red Riding Hood was a pretty unique concept I liked it a lot. I think the main thing that I can see wrong with it was that you need to render out the bottom half of her body more completely.
The Valkyrie seems to be heading in a pretty cool direction too, I definitely get the "evil" vibe from it. Will be interesting to see how she turns out!
Thanks clocks, you're bang on with the RRH comment, I just ran out of time to be honest. Fell straight into the trap of adding too much detail in one place and not gradually bringing up the detail of the whole piece.
More wip on this weeks chow - added colour and gave it some more space.
Final for CHOW71
Damn been lazy latey - better make up for it. WIP for this weeks CHOW - this time with background!
Some more work on it today:
Final for this weeks Chow - background came out better than I expected!
Nice stuff. Like the Fallen Valkyrie![]()
Some thumbs for CHOW 73 ' Soul collector' trying to push the forms a bit.
Picked a direction:
impressive improvement! love how you handled the scavenger chow
Thanks Hyver. Sorry I let you down by doing nothing for 2 weeks - goddam Halo 3 beta!![]()
Anyway, back on track WIP for this week's CHOW - 'Demonic Pirate Lord'
Update - Think I might have lost a bit of character in the transition.
Added some colour and detail:
Added more detail and tweaked the colours:
