    Icon ----Another Sketchbook----

I have been reluctant on posting here since there are sooo many skilled and talented artists.

Here are some studies. The arms and the torso.
I will post more tomorrow...hopefully. maybe this sketchbook will keep me motivated.

Thanks DeJakhalz for the critique and for stopping by.

I figured i should say something about myself. I am a 16 year old female junior in high school. i hope to pursue a career in concept art in the future.

Im trying to draw as many arms as possible to grasp how it looks in certain positions and how it works.
Ill Try to post more soon

    Thumbs down

My first digital painting portrait. i guess you could call it a speed painting because i did not spend as much time on it as i should. got frustrated with the ear. i am going to do more studies.

hey thanks for the sketchbook visit

I think you're doing really well, and im impressed at your level of digital painting on just the first try, although i suggest you hold it off until you get the basics and your studies down, it will only sidetrack! Make some final pieces and practice coloring those on photoshop or whatever you are using. But before that still you should probably practice with real colors, computer is really the last step!

5coop - Thanks. Yeah i need to paint traditionally. I have the tools, but when i stare at the canvas, i have no idea where to start. I am going to try some things today and see where it takes me.

Hmmmm try drawing from life some more. Draw stuff in your room, outside, pets, or friends, just keep drawing! You're on the right track, keep it up! I think you've gotten a lot of great advice, mine would be to focus on shading, so far you have a heavy emphasis on contour lines. Anyway, keep drawing!

Yeah i need to start drawing more from life. I have my sketchbook with me in school, so when im bored, instead of daydreaming ill just draw the people in class.

hey space mod, thanks for dropping by, at my sketchbook! i just ha da look at your stuff and i think your drawings are getting better and better! when painting you should look out for your values though! try to use the whole range from darkest dark to lightest light otherwise you will flatten your image!
in post 22 you did a ver good job of going into the darks!
