Want to improve...

Hi everyone...this is my first post.
First of all sorry for my english!
I never posted because here I see so many good artists that I feel..umm like... not enough good, you know

But now I decided to do it just because I really want to improve and I know here I can find help.

Some info:
I'm 20 YO, I use photoshop and a Wacom Volito2 =\ (soon I'll change with a intuos or graphire...).
I always loved to draw, I like videogames (RPG), comics (especally mature manga like Berserk, Amon and things like that), anime etc.

I study architecture here in Italy so I have not so much time to draw my things but always, when I can, I'm with my tablet and photoshop.

Tell me what you think, what I have to correct/learn etc.
I use the default brush of photoshop set on flow:pen pressure.
If i missed something tell/ask me!

This one is nice... although i doubt we will see those links for long.. deviant art doesn't allow hotlinking i think ^^ the links will change.

My critique is that you should skip the white light and add some color to it instead... it could work if the background was darker... but now it just look
like if you thought that "light is white".. I guess yellow light would work better also... the closer to the lamp , the more defined the light should be! add a stronger light source!

nice paint work you got here! The only thing I have to say about the tifa piece, is her foot seems a bit large (dunno why tifa would be wearing shoes like that instead of boots, hahah but oh well!). The composition is very nice as well.

Well.. I thank you! But this is not the level I want to achieve.
The problem is that right now I can't see what I miss when i draw...

I would say that you suffer from the same "rush effect" that I do, that it is to see the finished picture skiping some steps.

First of all, draw it all, with pencil, on paper. draw the figures naked and then add the clothes, study clothes from life, learn what and how the behave around surfaces. Also, look at the right arm or the warrior. It is cloth behind the armour? are those muscles? which ones?

So construct/build the figures with a little more time on them. You obviously know painting techniques so focus on what´s lacking. A good excersice is to draw from pictures but constructing them instead of copying. That is, take a photo of someone dressed, and draw him naked, and then you add the clothes not only as you see them, but as you know that they should be.

And post more pictures as soon as you get time to do them!

Thank you for your advice, I think I have to practise more and more on this, because without photo refernces I still can't do decent drawings...

A month ago my scanner crashed and I started doing things directly on photoshop and I felt comfortable...it's strange but I feel more comfortable than with paper and pencil!

its like you stop short of finishing them
bump some high lights and darken your shadows a little, and refine some details where you want the focus to be.

Nice work generally. Nothing wrong with any of it, although I wouldn't mind a little more finish and detail, as concept art it's fine. Good anatomy and expressions, especially on the swordsman. Maybe just a little more work on texture- hair, armour, cloth etc.
