Hello I'm a long time doodler but any inherent or learned art skills I may have had have largely withered on the vine. So any and all advice, comments, suggestions, and critiques are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I am just stopping by to check out your sketchbook. I am not so good with critiques because I am a beginner, but now that our class is ending, I will at least try to stop by to check out your progress and to leave feedback when I can. Keep drawing!
u got a gud style, keep it up. shud also work mor on anatomy, keep it up!
Thanks for the comments. I know I need work on the anatomy, and color theory, and figure drawing and pretty much everything.![]()
Updated my chicken concept, mentoring thread post, and added a basic sketch from reference. I lost the reference half way through so the can in particular is a bit off.

Well it looks like you're doing quite a bit, which is good. Keep going my friend.
The only thing I can comment on that really sticks out to me is that, you're working with the human figure, proportions. Doing some good "skely" drawings. But in a few you've blocked out or put "meat" over them. Problem is instead of looking like muscle or human anatomy, it looks more like a balloon suit that's been inflated over a skeleton.
Remember, when putting "meat" on the basic figures --- all that meat is connected to the skeleton, to the basic form. Tendons, muscles, all the inner workings that we have our skin stretched over, try to make the meat stick to the form of the beginning outline a little bit more. Right now you can get some good basic proportions and little skely poses going, but then adding all the squishy/muscle you seem to lose that shape and composure. People are far, far from round. (Unless they're obese, but even then there will be parts clearly connected to things like the skeleton, at joints and such.)
Thanks, I agree completely. I have alot of trouble moving from skeleton to basic shapes, to real shapes. It doesn't help that my proportions are still off quite often.
And here's something completely unrelated to your comment.

I can see you are taking a systematized approach to this. That's good. You just need to keep practicing. This last guy shows me you have small head disease (which I have been battling myself). You are not afraid to do outrageous pieces, and for that I salute you. Do not lose your independent spirit and become another of the drones.

Thanks for the comment. I see what your saying about his head, it started bigger but it looked too big so I shrunk it. Sigh.
Speaking of heads here are some more of those goofy skulls.

Nice studies, you show a lot of improvement on the human figure.
i think you should practice more on shading before going in to digital. Maybe you should do so master copies and then render it in digital. This will help you to improve your observation skill and rendering in digital.
Happy drawing.
