First post:Tooth Fairy wip...

I'm fairly sure there is some intro thread around here, but I just wanted to get right to business and ask for critiques over some digital art. I'm more comfortable with Pixel art, than higher forms of digital like some of the stuff you guys do around here ( For any pixel enthusiasts, I am "The B.O.B." at Pixeljoint.com, and pixel-arts.org/pixelation). I'm still fairly sloppy with photoshop 7, and don't quite understand how most of you guys get your pieces so damn defined; Everytime I try, they come out kind of blurry. I can't get sharper edges for the death of me...so here it is, the Tooth Fairy:



Yeah, it's pretty sloppy and horrible. I'm still working on this thing. I thought it'd be best to get some profound critiques over this guy, and maybe some suggestions or add ons, for a more nastier, grungier tooth fairy. Don't be afraid to tear it apart, too! I love constructive criticism.

xD I love the creativity here. But yeah, the other limbs would be helpful, and maybe some sparkles/other colors on the wings.

Wow, that is definitely something else. Haha.

You do need him to have another arm and leg though, even if it's really simplified. Also his (her?!) leg is short and the calf is noticeably small.

I would like to see this finished though. The idea is cool.

I think the wings need to either get bigger or smaller. You're sort of going halfway on them and making them look like normal fairy wings. I would really like to see the finished piece, I'm amused by the concept.

Whelp, I finally decided to update it. Man, I'm finding it extremely difficult to make this look the way I want. I decided to change out his ballerina tights with some jail house pants-but I kept the bloody bandage.
Also decided to take the critique to heart about the other limbs. I'm still not done, but if you're wondering, HIS(heh...) other arm will probably be holding a purse filled with teeth, or something of the sort. ( And yeah, those are also a crappy rendition of some old school, worn down Converse)
Obviously, he's not supposed to have perfect anatomy proportions, so I don't think I'm going to change the calf. However, if enough people think it's still too wierd, than I'll make an exception and try my best to resolve the tiny calf issue.
And you nailed it on the dot about the wings, glitteranddoom. I'm practically half assing it, cause I have no clue how to make it look the way I want. The line tool, and curve tool are something I'm completely not used to. I'm still reading up on how these tools work, so forgive me for being so damn slow.
I'm also stuck on a good design for a crown. The one I have is ok, but it screams "BORING!" I was wondering if any of you guys had some input on what a good tooth fairy crown would look like. I'm also still open to suggestions, if any of you guys have any...

I always imagined a tooth fairy's crown would be made of teeth. Or at least have some on it. It seems fitting in this guys situation.
