and some recent ref studies.. crits needed. I will post more later
dancing bot sketch, some overpaint over older stuff doodle, head and a little face sketch from bridgman
Hey dorobo nice updates since I last visited. Really enjoying the dancing bot sketch. Will you be taking the sketch further? Think you might push the values a little more on the black/white painting, seems like the lower background is conflicting with the girl. Nice head studies as well.I think the apple could use a background just so it can pop out more, and might be able to read the values more. Maybe add more contrast on the shadows and some stronger highlights. Oh never commented on that bug, I think if you added something to incorporate that bug it would lead to an awesome t-shirt design, eh at least I would wear it.

yes Iam taking the dancing bot for further development at the moment trying colors for background ( could be a hot desert ). Thanks for the crits about values.. it seems I should use more contrast. good idea about t-shirt design..
some time ago a did series of sketches with COPIC markers. Actually it was based on Scot Robertson technic.. so here goes some original scribbles and something that came out of those later on. comments and crits always welcome

Now scan that in high res, then in PS use your crop tool and start looking for cool mini-compositions. Once you find something that works well, crop it and blow it up. then start working on that again. This little excercise has always lead me to astounding results and stuff I would never have thought of other wise. These type of experiments are also great for establishing texture in an image. Hope what I say makes sense hehe, see if works for you.
Thanks for dropping by my book man!

There is some really good stuff here. What really got me to sop in though was the thread name. It's funny, but I've been going by The Dweller in Darkness for years online. Lurker in Light ... seems like we need to be arch nemesis now or something![]()
