Here is a WIP that came up during brush testing. I don't have any real desination for the image. But any crits are welcome its very very young in developement but I feel the composition is strong. Thanks for all comments.

yeah i dunno whats going on here but it does have promise.

1. GET a direction for this.
2. develop it.
3. finish the work.

Starting to place some detail into the piece. I am working with layers to make color adjustments as I go. I thought of making this a speed painting but Im falling into the piece more and more! crits welcome.

hmm.. i would suggest keeping the colors at their current level.. nice and cool dark. im all for the contrast of lights and darks but most of this image is blue-ish and then theres a huge YELLOW-ish object in the sky suddenly??? hurts the eyes. or maybe its just me. you can leave the object, no sweat.. but maybe make it white or silver.. i light 'cool' color. whatcha think??

for right now I'm leaving it as is. I wanna get all the details down and later tweek the colors + I on the other hand Like vibrant color schemes. We will see I made it where I can change color really quick and easy. But thanks for the 2 pennies good to hear outside voices.

if you are trying to emulate sparth or ryan church, these guys, especialy sparth is using premade "human-figure", "mountain-shaped", etc brushes in photoshop. for sparth it takes one click to do the shape of a mountain or a tree. then of course he goes into more defining and detailing.

LOL yup they have custom brushes. I paint with both premade and PS brushes just trying new things out. I am inspired by sparth and Vyle but I dont want to copy them lol just learn from them. Thanks again for your help on rogue by the way OLEG.

Here I am and there you are, Hello all I have made some changes to the ship in this piece and wanna hear about it. First I did not like the ship I was rendering the style did not fit. But I reworked it and it seams to work for me. MMMMM well for now at least. I will refine it some more and post it up but for now here is what I got. Good Day All!!

no seriously, it is good but i think the ship could use a bit more detail. the landscape below and the lower half of the ship look great.. but that large central part seems a bit bare..

the bg atmosphere could use some more detail too.. maybe more clouds or something, seems kinda empty.

now finish this up and it better be REALLY awesome! - JAG

Thanks JAG. Yeah I thought about those things you mentioned but then I thought well I leave it the way it is you know kinda lose but tight at the same time. I dont know maybe Ill leave it for a while and come back to it. I got this robot Im working on Ill post that soon.
