Matsign: Yeah missed that part I guess. Was planning to get rid of that black but apparently didn't Thanks for the crit.

Hey Jelle: Hehe no uploads, no crits You're right about the landscapes, but I did a couple from ref a while ago (couple of pages back in my SB) and I figured I should do some without ref fore a while.

Another one from today. Totally spend too long on this one, clouds are a bitch to render. Must practice moar..

Hyptosis: Thanks man As said, the sky at the horizon could use some work.

Here's today's work, a further development on the above speedpaint. I had this idea for a world/story in my head and these speedpaints are a nice way to develop things further. A little less saturated this time, so sunglasses are no longer needed

    Remmy:

Had time for another speedpaint today. Not sure how long it took me, I wasn't really focussing I'm afraid. Weather is too nice here to sit behind the computer too long Play on the same theme as the last couple, again a bit too saturated maybe (though I like it somehow). I might have to adjust my other monitor...

And some sketches for the IDW of this week: Towtruck. Started out by doing a standard towtruck I remembered from a picture, then slowly went into a more original design. Needs another couple of goes before I like it I think, but am not sure I'll finish it.

The depth of your digital painting is great, but sometimes I feel the colours are a bit flat. Not sure if it's because the clouds, love them though. I know how it feel when the weather is just so nice that one cannot sit in front of his desk and draw, I myself actually went out for having the nice sunshine today. Those ID drawings are still as fascinating as usual, your style is really recognizable to me.

    RhandAlThor: Will do

Quinn Simoes: Here's some more. Thanks for dropping a note.

UnSharpened: Heh you're right about those clouds The reason I'm doing these quick paintings is to practice them. I got the strong suspicion that once I know how to render a cloud convincingly I will know a lot more about painting in general Thanks for stopping by mate.

Here's my final for the current IDW round for now. I might noodle some more on it if I get the time, but I suspect I won't have any

Teh Gosu: Ha yeah, I totally forgot that. Then again, the proportions are deliberately a bit over the top so the door will never be all that practical I guess

Dynamike: Voting hasn't yet started, but thanks.

Here's the final-ish, I decided to spend some more time on it.

Just wanted to say, love your technical drawings. There' awesome, and inspiring. The Wrecker is really pretty cool. Although I liked the medium duty traditional looking one that had the longer hood in your original sketches.

You're technical design work is really tight and clean. It amazes me how you handle those. You're other work is also very well done and shows skill. I wonder one thing; did you think you learned a lot at your university or does it comes alot on self teaching mostly?

Why I wonder, when I ask other people in the Netherlands that did a specific creative study, they say it's more self study then the mentor teaches you. I just hope this is not a rude question, I just like to hear from different people about this. I'm still poundering on what study I should choose after doing Animation and Games.

    Farvus: Thanks for stopping by

Whitevillage: Well, I did learn a lot at my university. Not all of it is applicable to drawing though However, the way I draw has certainly developed over the 4/5 years I've been studying here while doing the drawing classes etc. There's always a lot of self-studying involved, but the tools that were handed down by the teachers helped a lot.

So yeah, some Paul Bonner inspired stuff. Orcs....

Love the tow truck! [ *nabs for inspiration folder ]

I've got a soft spot for trucks, although I really haven't studied 'em anywheres near enough. This is a pleasing little reminder to do so!

The warthog reminds me that I've been meaning to study hyenas.
