I really like your work. Thanks for posting that armored car process, btw - it really helped me with my own orthos.

hey man, you have some really nice stuff in here. I like you sketches a lot. They have a lot of energy. Nice ID stuff too!

The two headed hog creature has some interesting rendering techniques, as an illustration its very very cool. However, from a design stand point I feel that it might benefit from contrast in shapes. Big, small, ect. Horns are always a good place to introduce some dynamic shapes in creatures. Keep posting more!

    Take care,
    Ryan

Max: Hehe thanks dude I keep forgetting your seasons are opposite of ours, it's getting sunnier here by the day.

    DanielC: Thanks and thanks

William b. Hand: Hey dude, thanks for stopping by!

    merl1n: Thanks

TheGnoll: No problem mate, hope I can inspire people with my stuff

Josef K. Shame I didn't have time to finish that dragon thingy, I had some ideas for it that I might work out one day though.

zhiao: Thanks, good to hear it was of some use to someone.

Ryan DeMita: Hey thanks for the crit, good point there. The focus in that image was indeed on rendering techniques, I was trying out new stuff with it. Totally agree on the design though, it sure isn't one of my strongest

    flamable: Thanks!

So, time for an update of sorts. Been sketching a bit this week and last, though nothing really finished came out. Perfect for a sketchbook update I guess. It's a bit all over the place, sorry for that.

First some car sketches I did in class yesterday. It's white/colored pencil and pastel on cheap black paper, and I kinda hate the medium since especially the pastel makes a mess usually. Time on each one differed, first and third about 45 min, the other something like 20 min or so, drawn from reference. Sorry for the crappy scans, my cheap ass scanner doesn't like the black paper either and I have to paste two halves together since it is an A4 scanner

Some cell phones. Exercise for the first years students here but I thought I'd have some fun with it. Fancy colours...

Sketch from an environment thumbnail I had done ages ago in my sketchbook, decided to work it out with fineliner and marker ink for a bit. Not totally happy with it, but I might work some more on it either with more markers or Photoshop.

And finally something I'm working on right now. Also from an old thumbnail, thinking of rendering it in both markers and Photoshop seperately to a more finished state both ways. This is just the C3 gray marker sketch that I upped the contrast from in PS for a bit to spot perspective problems before going in with fineliner.

On a different note, I'm thinking of starting up my mentor thread again, so if you're interested in it post in there or send me a PM. Link can be found in my signature

That old Citroen, wasn't that Richard Hammond's "best looking car" on Top Gear?

    Nice.

You've got me excited. I can't wait until you start the mentoring again.
The first step - especially for young people with energy and drive and talent, but not money - the first step to controlling your world is to control your culture. To model and demonstrate the kind of world you demand to live in. To write the books. Make the music. Shoot the films. Paint the art.

    Izer, Hive_Mind, Giorge: Thanks

IMBass: It's a pretty famous car yeh. Mentoring will start soon I promiiiiise...

Frank Gressie: Yeh drawing humans isn't my strongest point no. I should work on that someday.

    D@niel: Thanks man!

Update for tonight. Figured I should try some scenic stuff too, so I drew some random soldiers and a supporting walker in a jungle/forest setting Took me about 6 hours of fooling around. I might do more of these since they're fun to do, but I should work on the Team ChOW too actually. Busy busy.

    Ed Cherniga: Thanks!

Been spending the day at the AutoRAI, one of the few car shows in the Netherlands. We're sketching some redesigns of the c,mm,n project at their stand there, a project from our faculty. Here's one sketch I did today that turned out rather okay. It's still a bit wonky, but I might use some PS on it later on.

DanielC: Hey dude was cool meeting you in Dallas, always good to put a face to someones nick on CA .

Kaffinated: Awesome to see you again as well, hope you and your girl got a kick out of the Dallas WS too

Alexandre da Vinci: Thanks, here's one more from today.

dTb: Thanks dude, good to see you in Dallas

Here's one more, the theme of today was C,mm,n V8. Totally doesn't fit with the whole idea behind the car and it's concept, but since it was the last day we decided to have a bit of fun with it. This sketch came out more okay than the others I did. It's not really a 'v' 8, more an E8 for having 8 replaceable batteries.

Wow man, really great stuff. I really enjoy your vehicle stuffs. Very impressive. I like the birds eye view of the environment. It feels very ironical, to me, because all the armored gits look like they are bird-ish because of the helmets.

I would really appreciate it if youd take a minute or two and look at my SB and give me some advice or crits, or just to yell at me to do more its be super awesome.

I really like that jungle enviroment, green hues with red works good, that EOW is bit rushed yes, concept and complexity of enviroment suffers from fast work (as you know allready)
