Chuck, as everyone else has said, your entry is awesome. I prefer your initial idea for Lyra's dress, but what would I know.

And I'm really into D-BAKER's armour - very pretty technique.

So it's been awhile since I've participated - I've been busy with school and such.
Anyways, I haven't read the books or anything so I might be way off. And after doing this, I think the armor should be more ornate. Oh well... that's the critique of myself. Attempt 1

Ok, so in the spirit of improvement, I have returned to this image and did a bit more research. So here it is. Hopefully it looks a bit more regal now. Then again, perhaps it's a bit too simplified now. ....hmm... meh...

Cakeypigdog: I wouldn't throw away the opportunity for so much practice, it was worth reading it afterall just for the experience of turning someone elses description into an image. Man this was a difficult topic, learned a heap.
ChuckWadey: EON, I'll have to go and see what that one's about.
Kredepops: Genius eh? That's a bit of an exagerration but I'll take it, haha, thanks. To tell you the truth I know close to zip about coloring, in other words the simple coloring isn't completely by choice. I wish I could color as well as pretty much everyone else who's participating, so this is a chance to work on that.

bluefooted, I'm glad you DID bother. That's a beautiful piece. The variety of shapes you choose really spark my interest.

I'm suprised at the volume of unique enteries. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with "talking bear in magical armor" as a topic. Kudos to everyone who gave it a go.

haha - no - The Host (D-Baker in this case) will select the entries based on how much they are following the rules and HIS initial requests and needs and also based on the quality of the entry.
If he fails to decide in few days, i'll make the selection and.. everybody knows.. i'm the worst.

as soon as i have his list - i'll put up the poll.
this round might be a bit tricky as i'm on the road - chaging countries again so it al ldepends on my net access

I guess i made it just in time. I thought this topic was an inspiring one to say the least. anyways my rendition is japanese flavoured, with hints of samourai sword crafting. good job everyone there is some great, and intimidating stuff here.

Shame I missed out on this one, really. Golden Compass is one of my favourite books of all time. I got as far as the basic colouring on this one. Mine's a little more cartoony, just for something different. Just not quite where I want it though

. If the poll hasn't closed by tonight, I might throw it up just for s***ts and giggles. Trying to get the next CHOW done before deadline. I know who I'm voting for come poll time, though.
