mentler - I'm humbled, you've really made my day! Thank you.

    Lair Radical - Thanks!

    Ignominious - Heh, thanks

Something a little different today. I think I'll stick to good old pen/cil and paper for clean stuff, but doing this digitally was good practice for shaky hands! Low energy today so could only muster some fanart, no real thinking

Really, really nice stuff. Your colour theory is really good, I struggle with that so it always impresses me when folks have a innate grasp of shite like that. Thumbs up!

Chupacabra - Oh mate, I'm a fan of your work - I really appreciate you stopping by (and giving me an ill-deserved 5 stars)

    Chalid - Thanks!

Well I've been busy writing up an idea I have for a graphic novel. I finished illustrating page 1 today, so I thought I'd come by and see what people thought. To be honest I've lost the ability to look at it objectively, and subsequently I think I hate it - so any feedback would be awesome!
Also cooked up a little something for the super-stylised challenge, to 'warm down' from that page. Hope you enjoy!

orange M - Thanks, it's actually a Sargent study, pretty quick but glad you liked it.

    DARAF - Thanks!

Messing with mirrored paint blobs, turning a rorshacht (sp?) looking thing into whatever I saw in it. Pretty generic design came out, but I learned a good few things with this one so I thought it deserved a post

Food is always quite tricky to get right, so I found a picture I liked and started painting. Fairly speedy study, attached the greyscale loose values I started with too

Delicious painting as usual, specially this one.
Just wondering could you show some brushes you use back in #250, I would like to learn some techniques of blending and edge control from you if possible.
    Cheers!

UnSharpened - Thanks for the kind words. I used a simple hard round brush for the alien in #250, switching from soft edges to hard and from round to oval - easy as that!

In a slump and not pleased with anything I'm doing, figure I may as well start posting it because at the moment it's all going in the bin. So, here's today's attempt.

great work man, the comic style itself doesnt look totally finished yet... maybe more development before hand? I know when I do comic stuff I have to draw each character a million times in my sketchbook before any sequential start to look good. Then once you've done that you got a solid style base. BUT anyways, the last one looks sweet, and the teen wolf made me happy. KEEP MOVVIN !

Wow! The scales on that last one looks really good! Did you use a texture to do it, or did you paint them yourslef? Either way, thei'r amazing. And the rest, too! Brilliant stuff, man.

Mr.Delicious - Yeah I could tell that the comic wasn't looking right, but I was hoping that after a few days of not looking at it that I might see it differently...i didn't heh. Definate lack of planning, overly eager to get on and paint. All good practice for the real thing though I figure.

JaneM - Yeah I used a texture on that one, it was a 20 min quickie so I thought why not.

    Camara - Cheers

Some ideas floating about for the DEEP cow, thumbed some out today. Nothing spectacular, this is the stage where I let all the junk flood out before I can cut loose. The topic I set myself was bioluminescent cephalopod.

glad I stopped by very rich colors like really good watercolors. nice to see what can be done. as far as deep Cows go, they are nice creatures but I would recommend not making your topic boxes too small. (mental boxes).

you work is beautiful and inspirational.... runs off to go paint

Hey mate, how's it goin? Very inspiring sketchbook, you've come so far in my opinion. That Rorschach is a really good idea, I might try that.
Your comic is good but probably a little too good, what I mean is you dont want to have to spend as much time on each panel as you have on these ones. I guess you gotta find a nice technique that is simple but looks good, harder than it sounds I guess. If you did make a whole comic with that quality that would be awesome though. Also the text is boring but I guess that's only temporary?

I don't think I've ever come back to CA and had this many messages waiting for me, I really appreciate the encouragement so so much!

Camara - Heh, thanks! I dunno if I can enter the deep chow after all, gonna try my hardest though.

WhiteC - Cheers! Don't think I've had anyone subscribe before

UnSharpened - No problem, hope it was of some help?

Sketch - Always good to hear from you. I'd like to see me do more finished stuff too!

    Chris_Grisham - Hehehe thanks!

    Moftah- Thank you

Clochette - Thank you very much! [Borat voice]I like you![/Borat voice]

chaosrocks - Thank you, really lovely compliments. I agree with the box comment, I'm definately thinking too much about creatures that already exist.

    Surion - Thanks

28chelseaslater - Hehehe, I so wanted to be Teenwolf when I was a kid!

Too much free time spent learning japanese, and neglecting the drawing - bad! Incidentally, any Japanese speakers wanna give me any tips etc. I would be most grateful. One a positive note, I'm on the brink of getting a fulltime inhouse concepting job (interview very soon apparently) so wish me luck!

Hour or so and this little poop came out, not sure what he is. Promise I'll be good and show something a little better next time.
