Holy crap it's been a while. I finally have something to post! Thank you to everyone who has visited in the meantime and given me feedback, your critique shows me what I should be working on. I hope my art develops in the future!

I'm settling into my first year of Ringling College (Computer Animation major). It's been hectic, but I hope to be visiting some sketchbooks soon.

Now for the art! This first batch is actually from earlier this summer.

Now some art from my first week of classes. Sadly I really haven't drawn anything between the start of summer and now.

The first gestures are from my figure drawing class, one minute for each pose. It's been a while since I've had to work so quickly. I had some trouble getting the head in.... Forgive the crappy photos.

After that are some sketches from our Concept Development class. We did a few observational sketches of people we saw and then turned them into characters.

I love looking at how people do gestures. I think you captured the flow and the weight of each pose really well.

longwrat: Thank you! Argh I don't post at all anymore, I wish I had more time....

Asatira: Gestures are a challenge, I'm still learning. I plan to post more soon; hopefully there will be some improvement.

copperfire: Thanks man! I'm always glad to entertain.

cmoreland: Thanks! LMAO, it must be true cuz there's no way there's two people in the world with sideburns that big. :p

Moogle: YOU BETTER! Just kidding, thank you.

One day I will scan the gestures from my figure class. Until then, here's some of my usual randomness.

I am absolutely horrible at posting. Many thanks to Jens, Kevinstarlight and wrat for your comments.

Busy semester. I'm not sure how much I've been developing technically. I feel like most of my time has been spent learning how to communicate through images. Soooo here's some select stuff from the semester.

Hey there - it's been a while. I like the girl carrying the pail and staff, and the hindu goddess (shiva?) is very cool. I hope you're semester is going OK - you're in the home stretch.

I'm taking a graphic design class at Montgomery College, so I understand about the busy semester from at least the 1 class perspective + work. I take it that part of your experience there is learning how to produce more quickly than you're used to? Have fun!

Nice gesture drawings. I really like the last few images you posted. They look like story boards. I especially like the fire guy, he looks familiar. A lot of movement captured in the ones with the dogs as well, really did a good job!

These are fantastic. You've got a great sense of motion. Maybe animation is for you? Check out the 11 second club. : P Reminds me of disney or pixar concept art/storyboard art. Keep up the great sketches!

    Hi guyssss.

Wow, haven't done this in a while. But one art school and lots of life experience later, I want to get back to posting in the sketchbook forum regularly. Here's just a random assortment of stuff I've done in the last few years.

I'm still working on getting into the animation industry, and it's about time I start trying new things. My day-to-day stuff is still too sketchy, I think - I need to work on refining and bringing pieces to completion. Sadly, I was much better at conceiving ideas when I was younger, and not so concerned with being a great artist. Back when it was just for fun. Gotta loosen up.

Anyhoo thank you everyone for the awesome feedback you've given me when I'm feeling down about my work and hopes for the future, it's nice to come here and see so much great critique and encouragement.

A friend and I took to the streets of Los Angeles to do a bit of sketching. First UCLA, then Hollywood.
