Pretty good start there, I liked your shoe picture. It made me laugh, jokes aside this really is pretty good. Hope to see you around to forums!
I think the problem with pen&ink is that there is no Ctrl+z command.
writers and artists have a lot in common -- we both draw from life, we both paint pictures, and we'll both spend to many sleepless nights on our work.

Thanks Gunther409!Hahah I have a tendency to write in my sketchbook, glad to know it's amusing. I'll be watching you as well.
Shocking! I actually have things to post... a few sketches, a quick PS doodle and a work-in-progress.
they say it takes a thousand bad drawings to get out of your system before you become good. I say your way AHEAD. Keep at it, good stuff.
Good animal gestures and faces... your have some
good natural animation style, keep pushing it.
Very tenderly characters and animals! Your style remember me Rachel Teigrob, my preffered animal is the last fox
cheers
are the sketches of those two girls (chubby black girl and girl sitting in front of tv) from life or from photo ref?
how long did they take you?
they intrigue me

TUNAFISH SAMMICHES?!
Hey nilaffle I thought Id check out your sketchbook. I love your work my favorites have to be the 2 people from life they're amazing along with the cats too. Keep up the good work and good luck at Ringling!
Thanks for dropping by guys, I appreciate it
2kre8: Hahaha I love that, thanks! But how many good drawings do I need to do before I become KICKASS?
maxetormer: Thanks! I'll definitely push harder
Dreamworker: I hadn't heard of Rachel Teigrob before so I checked out her art. She's awesome, especially her animals, I'm very flattered. Thank you!
Tad: Both from life... hahah TV's the only way I can get my nieces to sit still.Hmm I think the first one (of the chubby girl) took about 15-20 minutes, the second one was more like 7-10 minutes. I draw those guys frequently, so I'm glad you like!
TheGnoll: Aw, I love Artkitty, she's got a comic I read every week.Thank you!
Blade-14: Hahah you hit the nail on the head with that description. Thanks!
Chermilla: Lol thanks! (Mental note: more kitties....)
pennington: Thank you!
Sirio_Brozzi: Cool, another cat fan.Thanks!!
Bkschu: Thanks man. Hopefully we'll get to see some work from you soon
Hahahah I felt bad posting again unless I had more art. I do the nine-to-five thing so it's really hard for me to find time during the week (I suck...). But today was such a pretty day a friend and I decided to go to the local park to draw... and, y'know, get glared at by birds of prey.

I love your drawings! Many have mentioned a natural animation style, and I totally see your pictures alive and animated! I love the soft shades on the coloured works, and the strokes on the penciled ones!![]()
Awesome stuff! You're capturing the mass very well with the underlying gestures and that's just pure win.
Awesome stuff, makes me feel lazy for not posting anything lately. I love the birds and as usual your comments gave me a good laugh ^_^
I might like to see something a little more finished though, that's my only thing.![]()

pretty nice animals u have , very nice sketches ..my favs r the cat and the eagles..very nice faces too and im agree with blade..nice work again good pencils
Your off to a great start with your sketchbook- from your drawings I can tell you have a good handle on gesture and mass. I like your notes on your tree sketch.."I like trees, they don't move". Thats pretty much how I feel when drawing from life, if it doesn't move I like it! P.S - Thanks for stopping by my SB.
JazzW: Awwww, thanks!
sciboy: Thanks, I'm glad to hear it and I'll try to keep it up
Gunther409: Hoho, you have identified my one weakness: completing stuff. :p I'll try to follow through better on my work. As long as you post more art in your sketchbook!
Dan Valkar: Thanks!!
reidaj: LOL a kindred spirit.Thanks!!
Thanks for visiting everyone.
Haha, y'know, personally I think I'm off to a pretty good start with this updating stuff... but I'm not sure how long I can keep this up, lol. This is abnormal that I draw so much in a week (no seriously, this is a LOT for me). Hopefully I stay the course because I could really use the work....
On that note, please feel free to critique, the last thing I need to do is get lazy....
Oh, so. A friend and I ventured out into the wilds of DC yesterday................... well really just the National Gallery of Art. Started copying the statues, then got crampy and did some gestures to loosen up.

More. My models - err, nieces, were over again....
Plus a random doodle just to switch things up.

Hey, you've got some pretty neat stuff here--the birds in particular, but I really like the two kids at the bottom of your first post. They've got a lot of character.
More!
EDIT: Oh, look. More.![]()
I like your work, especially your foot studies and the last drawing of the child and the dog. It reminds me of how much work I need to do before I go to Ringling.
Nice studies nil, second page was nice. The statues turned out pretty well too, although the lines in some areas could be cleaner. Keep it up. nilaffle.![]()
TUNAFISH SAMMICHES?!
Awesome work there. You have an almost cartoony style to your work which is rather cool imo. Also id like to congratulate you in being accepted into ringling! hoorah! keep it up.
help save the world from artistic poverty. 1 crit a day is all that is needed to prevent these poor people from artistic starvation! make a diference today and drop into the critique forums
I really like the way your attacking all age group figures instead of the mature forms that most people practice on. really shows your openmindedness in the realm of figure drawing.
Still watchin ya, the updates must continue!![]()

chumble spuzz: Thank you!
Atsurou88: Thanks manthe both of us have a LOT of developing and learning ahead.
Sirio Brozzi: Thanks for pointing that out, I have a tendency to rush through my work. I really need to spend more time cleaning up my lines. Thanks for coming back.
Steve255: Haha I'm glad you like it, only now I think maybe I should draw more realistically :p ah well. And THANK YOU for the congrats!
Blade-14: Thanks!! I've taken a particular liking too kids latelyI'll make sure to keep mixing it up.
xXMizu_NinjaXx: I saw your cat, it's adorable! XD I'll be coming back to your SB. Thanks for stopping by.
Little update this time, hope that's okay. I saw Teigrob's tutorial for drawing animated animals and thought I'd give it a try. I dug up a bunch of pictures of horse skeletons... but then after looking at them for a while I decided maybe I should try something smaller. :p

Seems like the tut worked, some really nice poses on the second page, showing some good dynamics. Dig the one of the rat trying to climb up a ledgeGlad you went for rat first...Horse skeleton work really kicked my ass the first few times I attempted them. D; Looking forward to more stuff.
