Kyethn: Glad you like my current work.
One of a series of the cloth studies i'm going to do. I'm collecting various cloth advertisements as reference. Here's some boots.

Some fighting special effects doodles and lifedrawing (rotting banana's!).
Great idea with the cloth studies, Good luck with that , looks good sofar.
Thanks Daraf, hopefully tomorrow some of them. Here's some good old anatomy studies. I ignored those for a while.
Shoes, noses and a figure from a Bonaparte advertisement.
Some referenced drawing studies I did today. The animal skeleton is based from Moai's mentor topic, which I find helpful.
I like your progress. Many artists are afraid to draw different things, I think your on the right track. I like your anatomy studies, that is the best way to learn the human form next to lifedrawing, keep it up![]()
Lawnboy: Thanks, I agree about drawing many different things. It's not always the most fun to draw, but I think a good illustrator should be able to draw everything. At least decent and believable.
Arm study and some thumbnail sketches for a illustration I want to work serious on.
Did'nt do really much today for my drawing studies, but here's some hand practice from my own hand.
Incredible studies! Everything looks so well rendered.
I think you have a great grasp of rendering! Your cloth studies are going exceptionally well. As well as your anatomy studies.
About the only critique I can offer, and this is completely from my opinion and personal, but I could get into anime, just never really liked drawing it personally. But like I said, it's your personal style and there is nothing wrong with that at all. <hides!>
Anyway, all-in-all great sketchbook and I can't wait to see more!![]()

Malakai: Thanks, though I don't get your critique about anime.
Gavobe: Thank you for the reply, I should use my acrylics some time as well...
Some environment studies, I used an animation book from Preston Blaire as reference. Those environments are always bothering to do and get right, but I think I get the hang of it some more now I did this one. Colours done with colour ink and are not accurate, just fooled around with it for fun. Scanning A3 can be bothersome...
And a life drawing from a couple of days ago. Did'nt know to post it here or not. Oh well.![]()
I'm still drawing when time permits it. Busy with projects at the moment. Here's a city during the rain. I'm experimenting with skylines and city layouts.
That drawing of the corner in your house is REALLY GOOD.
It's very important too, because on of the largest things I'm seeing is a lack of understanding of perspective, and nothing can defeat that better than doing enviro studies with objects that are mostly geometric. It's also great practice to draw the ground planes and objects when figure drawing, because you will decvelop a sense of how to place the figure correctly in perspective.
Keep doing anatomy studies, they are helping immensely, but you still have a long way to go! You are showing good dedication as well, even just doing a few hands studies a day is good work.
About the illo; get some reference. Even in the thumbnail stage, I am seeing alot of anatomy errors and perspective issues. Get friends to pose or something, using reference, even if it isn't going to be in a realistic "style", will help the process go ALOT smoother. That town drawing is alright, but it still is suffering from alot of perspective errors. If you are doing 2 point perspective, make sure you are always aware of where both VP's are at all times. Even very minute errors can make entire other parts of a picture look off.
Keep at it, you are doing a good job!
Justin: Thank you for the well thought critiques. I need those kind of comments to know how i'm doing and what I should focus on more.
To others: I always apreciate a well though critique, that's why I post here, next to keeping track at my progress journal. You guys are welcome to post to point things out so I can improve on that.
Bridgman studies and life hand studies of my own.
Those environment study pieces are beautiful. Great studies as well whitevillage!

Thanks for passing by and commenting, Koto Stomp.
Muscle study and fun with ecoline.
Life drawings from my left hand, manequin stuff from Loomis and a muscled body profile I drew on A3 size from Simblit.
Wooden manequin from life and pelvis study from Gordon. I should do more life drawings, they give me satisfaction and learning curve although it's annoying to begin with...
Extra post today, because it's about time so show some of my non study works to get an idea how far I am.
A head from mind and some quick characters concept for christmass, yeah it's scribbly.![]()
It's been a while, but here is some drawings I did today at school, from the book Potrait drawing by Wendon Blake.
Hey like you studies but i find something that (i think) is a little wrong through out the whole sketchbook, that is that you make women to big and muscular. Maybe its my impression but i thought i should just say it as a word of advice
If you have the time, do not mind to have a look at my sketchbook![]()
Stopped by to see what you are up to and
thank you for stopping by my thread and
feeding the fat monkey.
I see your making steady progress and
your work has improved a great deal
with every post.
yepp nice anatomy studies , i really like the sketch quality in these thumbnails, a little tipp , always make perspective construction lines first when you do figures from mind not in ian 2 d view. keep it up.
Lacadam: Thanks, yes the women you saw in my sketchbook are intended to be like that. I'm so full of fetish.
Mentler: Thank you for stopping by. I'll try my best to do more studies.
GhoblinShark: Thanks, it'll do next time!
Something different; lately, I spent most of the time on some projects, this illustration is one of them You can see more in the Sketches and WIP forum. Here is the direct link: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho....php?p=1540615
Finally something to show, i haven't been very serious lately about my studies, but I promise to do more of them how ever!![]()
great sketchbook, lots of great studies and I like your shading.. good stuff.
UriL: Thank you kindly.
Ears done with different media, mouths and a failed attempt at drawing a figure from Gordon's book. All from the same book by the way.
Started since 2 posts ago with Hogarth's Dynamical Anatomy. I get the idea it's at times too stylished, reference for workflow is great though.
Character from Post #4. She's a tall amazone kind of cat. Anyway it's fun to see the differences from today to the one from March 31. Nipples where added to give proper definition. No reference used, i'm happy to see it's not for nothing those studies.
