good general sktching of inanimate objects. The gestures on those pages are off though, Do you turn your pages when you draw, I used to and my figures were tilted or leainng just like yours are looking. Make sure you start your figures with a strong dynamic action line and keep you paper straight! well at least while your laying the figure out at first.

Crazy Dude: Thanks, yep drawing people walking (and other gestures of not sitting still) is quite a challenge, but it's fun when you put your energy into it, positive wise.

Smartkyle: Yes, I think I do turn pages in many directions with my sketchbook to get comfortable with it then with a single piece of paper, the sketch book rests most of the time on my other hand.

I did a few photo copy's from characterdesign.com, I'm not really that good yet at drawing from photo's, hench the proportions and shading. And a panel resketch from a 4 page comic I planned a year ago.

Wow, bridgeman studies are awesome! you have also improved you gestrures from character designs, they look very fluid. Even if they are a little off. Great stuff the bridgman is starting to pay off.

Excellent work on the skull and the Bridgman studies... One thing you have to be careful of is when your drawing from photos is that you have to reconstruct the forms or else it will turn out flattened.

I like the coreshadow studys in the previous post.

Yeah I understand what you mean with refering from photo's, and I ain't a big fan doing them as well. Nothing beat life models, it's only too bad I can't follow nude model classes, too far away from where I live, so I guess drawing models from photo's for now is better then nothing.

A quick sketch for CHOW Robotic Gigolo. I might change a lot on the design and I've got some funny ideas to come along for poses. I want to keep the gigolo model as some kind of lowbudget model, so I can make it with raw material.

hmmm great anatomy studies, i think its time you put it all together and drew some full figures head to toe, using what you have learnt from the smaller studies.

I like the colored ink drawing, You might like to try out some watercolor sometime... I highly recommend checkin out Solon's work... Anatomy is always great... You might like to also check out Mentler's Book of Bones thread... or check out his knowledge base in his website... it's in my sig... Smartkyle: I think It is time as well to do more complete figures from my studies. I don't think I can pull it off perfectly, but we'll see. Though I like to draw smaller parts when i'm relaxed and bored; 1. you do at least something 2. you'll learn from it.

Crazy Dude: Thanks for liking the colored ink drawing, I some how like it as well. Solon's work looks very sweet. I'm familiar with Mentlers works here at CA.org. I even did a head study from his 'Book of bones' and it was very helpful for proportions on the head profile. I'll look later into his website and the forum.

Some studies: the good and the bad (in my opinion). It says it's made on 28/08/07, I mean the 29th because I drew them tonight.

As far as critique on your work, I mean, your technical drawings are amazing. Reminiscent of real technical ones imo.
I have to agree with Kyle, and I think after all the studies you've done. Test yourself maybe once a week or twice, merely up to you really. But try and place everything you've learned about anatomy and try to see how things work in your pieces. From the level of detail and maticulousness(sp?) of your ability, I think you're definitely ready for it!
One thing I always say, is that you can never not have enough confidence in yourself. Learn to appreciate what you can do, and then work on other things to help you develop yourself further
Try some other types of anatomy too. Perhaps animal anatomy? Just for some variance. I dunno though, you might be focusing on human anatomy.

Malakai: Thanks for liking my studies, being eager to learn from subjects that interest you, helps. I will look later on at animal anatomy and how machines work. I kept that in mind for a while, but i'm too addicted on humans for now.

This is actually a test page for that short comic I mentioned in post #92. It is drawn on a A3 paper sheet, quickly sketched and inked with Indian ink and Deleter pen nibs. As my own critique: I rushed the sketches too much and did not used any reference. The reason for the test: wondering how it will look on A5 size and if I can handle the A3 size for drawing on. I normally draw on A4.

I'll draw this page again later, being more serious about everything then from this test page.

It's going back to college for me. Which means I don't have that much time to draw then I usually had in my holiday season. Here are some sketches I did in the train and during class (there was no need to pay attention ). The last one was from last week, just found it back from my sketchbook (which is almost full).

Hey man, thanks for the advice, your faces rule.
I really like your torso studies too they have a certain "simplistic fluidity" that I find difficult to achieve.
You should definately try something slightly different, like machinery or some more environments as it's always good to have a break from something you do consistently. Although that could be my lack of patience talking.

kool test page. My advice is to block in plain tones for most of the backgournd. The fussy lines everywhere make figures and the important btis hard to read. Remember only detail where you want someone to focus.

Robojon: Thanks for attending my sketchbook and your advice. I want to do some environments as well. Machinery is also something I need to give more attention.

smartkyle: Thank you, I´ll take it in considiration. I added these crosshatching to bring in more mood, since I want to keep the pages pure black and white. There will be no grey scale or tones.

Small update, I lost my daily-drawing-study-routine habit i´m afraid... here´s another shoulder study to make things more clear to me.

Lookin good there with the portrait... with the brown tinted book you might find adding a touch of white pastel or chalk to help to bring out the highlights of form.

Awesome. In the first couple of posts I didn't like the stylisation too much, but you've improved so much since you started posting this, it's unreal. Inspiring stuff! Especially those clothing fold studies.
