Chris Noeth: Thanks ^^
Hedwordup: It was colored with watercolor
Art dump! I've been super busy at school. Still drawing of course but after animating all day I've been little inclined to scan. Anyway, here are some sketchbook pages and some color studies (some for my final film here at VFS) and in a bit I'll upload more life drawing too. Hope you've all been having a great summer. ^^
Gorgeous sketches. I just adore your style, and your lines are so fluent and yummy =) Also dig the watercolor environments!
very nice !
Life is good.
Chate Noire: Thank you kindly!
wink_ma: ^^ thank you.
Just one thing for now, a color test for the backgrounds for my film. Still not sure what medium to use. This was done with Painter and Photoshop.
I can't think of anything to give crits on. I really like your work. Your cartoon character style is just awesome. I like the old lady in post #90. You get so much with such a simple form. Good Job!
evissecx: Thanks ^^
Just some life drawing!
WIP. I missed painting after playing with painter for school. This is just from my sketchbook. Comments?
holy crapo, i thought some of this stuff looked familar. i was thinkin omg this guy was ripping off an acad alum, then it dawned on me... oh, it's rachel. very nice stuff, i'm really liking the progression you are making lately, your stuff has really tightened up. gj.
Yeah, I couldn't use Cheshire on this board and I've never actually used Rachel as a forum name, well except for DevArt actually. Huh, wierd. Blythe is my middle name.
Thanks, I do hope I am getting better else its a bit of a waste huh? ^^
Wow I absolutely love your figure gestures! Very nice expressive characters. Good stuff!
Jska-Thank you ^^
For the DMC thread over at http://www.monkeyslunch.com/forum/vi...t=195&start=25
Your linework is amazing and the charackters expression is realy good.Every single pencil sketch looks like it was done so easy that it gives me pleasure![]()

J. Boswell: Thank you very much.
I found my dip pens. ^^
Very cool SB!!!

chuck18mp: Yes, illustratorrrr.
azcat: Thank you, that means a lot, I tend to think I am absolute crap with color.
Speaking of illustrator, I can't believe I never posted this. This was done all digital and all in illustrator, except for a few sketches in photoshop to help with the figures.
Hey Blythe!
Beautiful designs and colours in your work. Love the watercolour sketches of some landscapes(layouts) you posted a few days ago. I'm not sure if you've finished your film or not, but I would recommend maybe doing the watercolour backgrounds rather than digital. You just cant match the charm you feel from traditional work with digital backgrounds. You might as well take advantage of that in your student film, as its almost nowhere to be seen these days in the industry.
If you've got a link to some animations, Id love to see them.

Great SB. Your cartoon style faces have such great flowing lines and strong expressions/body language - very impressive.
With your more painterly style images though, i actually wish you had more hard edges/linework in them. It's your strong point IMO.
my sketches here... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92997
www.sevans.co.nz , visit them or a puppy dies!
Amazing Action Ape: We've just started the film process. The backgrounds will probably end up being watercolor, since the option seems most popular (and I like them best anyway) I just wanted to try the digital way out.
As for animations, which are pretty much entirely linetests at this point, I will make an effort to get some off the computers at school.
Sevans: Yeah, I should just give up rendering. ^^ Kidding, but I will try to keep more linework in my paintings.
WIP, it was a busy weekend. Mostly working on final film at school here.
Very nice sketchbook! I really like your cartoony style. Seems like you're putting in lots of work with all your life studies.
I would have to agree with Amazing Action Ape...the watercolor backgrounds are such a great touch to your style and emotion in your work. Any chances on seeing the final film? Your work has such a great emotion to it.

I'd love to see some colour and maybe a bit of a suggestion of an environment (nothing craaaaaazy) on that last piece, its pretty cute.

Your expressions are so fantastic...and the movement! I absolutely love all of your critters. Sorry I don't have any suggestions to give.
Your artwork is so lively and full of emotion, like it's going to just explode out of the page! And the life sketches you do are very well done. It's as if they were easy to you. Lol. I especially love the Bird, Mouse, and Sausage pics.
Such a cute, creative idea!
Keep it up! ^^
