Why such distorted photos? Couldn't you get them straight and more evenly lit?

Yeah the angled photos really don't add any drama to the portraits, it just makes them harder to look at. They look quite nice but perhaps a bit muddy here and there. Can't be sure with that lighting blocking the values though.
