I love your environments! Infact you have a great sketchbook all around. The pencil lines have so much character in them, you think in terms of value/tone even when the drawing is in lineart. I definitely need to learn from you

    Izene- Thank you

e-nat- Thanks so much. When I get some time I would love to give you some more in-depth feedback on your work.

Here are a couple more pieces of art that I had not previously scanned, they are about a year and a half old. I really enjoyed doing ink and watercolor like this.

Yes please if you dont mind, feedback is much appreciated
Great update btw, the watercolors blend very nicely. Did you wait a lot for the ink to dry before adding water? Or did u use special ink?

enat- I did the drawing with India ink first. It dries almost instantly. I was trying to copy Mike Mignola's ink style. I don't think I have come up with a method that I love yet.

Bruce- thanks, you too. Your sketchbook is a lot of fun.

I was feeling really sad about the closure of Vigil games. I did this piece as a tribute, It is still a work in progress.

Really fun and diverse sketchbook man. Also noticed you worked on Darksiders as a set builder - sorry to hear about THQ. I hope it didn't impact your life too much, the game industry is brutal man. Did Vigil games get taken over/bought up by another parenting company or did it close down completely?

Great stuff, man, and it's great to find someone on here who works professionally with this stuff. I'd love some crits and brutal advice from you if you ever get the time. I'll be back to check out updates here for sure!

Can't wait to see your tribute piece finished. An advice for the ink of adam and the next: the shadows is marked with the signs of the pen tip. Try to use a covering ink, like (I don't know if you have it), "tratto marker", a permanent marker that leaves no trace or similar, it will be much more uniform.

Joe- Thanks! I think my digital painting skills lag behind my 3d and graphite, so I will be focused on that for a bit.

Sytrex- I like your traditional drawings too!

Jordy- Vigil closed permanently last Wed and 90 people including some very close friends lost their jobs. I was laid off 9 months ago, and in some respects I was very lucky. I currently very happy to be working at Riot Games. The industry is brutal, but I love it too.

MrFrenik- I am always willing to give a crit, I will do so soon.

Luckarky- thanks for the pen advice. I will try that out.

try to avoid just adding brightness/white to get a lighter value, which I think is what is happening in #485 with the tree. Maybe throw in some warmer tones to counteract the overall desaturated look. Too bad about THQ, I picked up some great games in the last few months from them , including darksiders i/ii.

skMOP- thanks for the feedback. I think you are right, that image needs more color extension. I am bummed out about Vigil, but a lot of my friends there already have jobs at Crytech, so that is a silver lining.

here are some more digital gestures, I am definitely fighting the media. I may go back to conte next time.

Dig the pencil stuff. You seem to take bounce-light into account which is neat.

So every Wed night at work, we have a drawing group where we pick 3 random words and everyone draws something that ties the words together. This week was Tower,Possum, and Seashell.

here are a couple more pencil doodles. One of which was from last night's sketch group. The topic was "Western/Spectacles/Pasta" I like my drawing, but I think I came up with the most obvious answer to the topic.
