B-Man: hey bman, i missed ya.. and its your lucky day.. because i have a lot more where that came from!
after seeing attack of the clones
and i decided to rework that last speeder kind of thing, because i liked the design.. its going right into my portfolio. i really try to think about functionality and design more then the drawing per se.

That's a neat scooter, a suggestion actually would be to take the back thruster off and make the front one almost like a pedal, the further you push your foot forward, the more straight you go and faster
hehe i dunno though, just thinking aloud :o
lookin really great though!

hmm i think that would be impossible, because if you would only have the two front trusters, and you press that truster/pedal forward, there is no vertical force that prevents the vehicle from dropping to the ground.
but thanks for the input anyway![]()
I really dig your design work ! Great stuff !!!!
Really like the scooter! Great work.
i really admire people who are good with machines and technical drawing skills...back in 'middelbare school' i always had the lowest scores with perspective and shitalthough i'm better at it now, but it seemed so boring at the time. anyways, overall great designs!!
one little nit pick,, the handlebars or 'stuur' on your scooter could use some more people friendlyness haha..rubber or something
keep going!
frank
Wow, I love your style. So light(instead of heavy rendering/line work), but still so beautiful.
It reminds of many Japanese artists' ink and watercolor works. And the last speeder actually kinda reminds of Ghost in the Shell. But anyway, I love it.Such a wonderful design and execution~
lkermel: thanks!
Lyno: thanks dude
Frank Gressie: perspective is very boring and seems simple but to apply it in a design you need alot of practice. totally agree on the not so user friendly steer. i will change it for sure. thanks for that pointer man!!
Aaron Death: i love that you appreciate my work. i dont look much at japanese watercolors to be honest, i just get inspired by dudes here at ca and in books of concept artists like the star wars books. after reading your post i watched ghost in the shell but couldnt really find a motorcycle thing in there. i like the end scene, soo weird with that spider robot and the android lying there.. weird movie haha
here are some works, most likely i wont continue with them.. not sure about the car thing... i like the wheel systems but the body just doesnt feel as i want it..

nice updates man
keep them up
P.S. do ya got a team on team chow 2 ?? plz pm me about this
hey mouser, sorry man, i dont have the time for it.. good luck with finding your team, i think its not too late!
here are some doodles for fun...
the car thing i will finish asap

diggin this new stuff a lot man, envious!
your stuff shows quite a lot of confidence, and your sense of design is showing thru!
i like how the barren wasteland in post 615 is called "city"
about the car i think its cool and simple, altho i think the shape of the chassis could "echo" the roundness of the wheels, having like...dunno, maybe a convex rounder shape thing, as it it was a bigger, more complex upper part of a wheel.I'd also really really like to see what you could do with a "star wars-ish" approch to design with "rougher" dirtier, more "used" vehicles, ut thats just me thinking out loud.
keep doing what you're doing, cause its great to follow
ciao!
TheGnoll: thanks gnoll! haha, that piece is calles city because originally i was planning to draw a city, but it turned out to be a barren wasteland O_O
about your comment about the car, its funny because i literally tried to repeat that circle shape in the body before i read your comment, but that didnt work either..i think ill stick with the body i have drawn now.
more rougher star wars spaceship sounds good ^^ hehe
still busy with the car but i will post it when finished
reffed anatomy study.. im pushing the correctness of my shapes.. notitce my fear for drawing hands
i changed some things in this one
i changed the mood some.. i like the dull mood in this one

m0uS3r: thanks my friend.. how are your drawings going?
some anatomy and hand studies
nothing really fancy but it thought i still share it with you... im learning some basic shit i should have learned a long time ago ;P the legs and hands are my weak points i will concentrate on that more in the future and do more figure studies out of my loomis book...

do you have any god-damn idea of how much you progressed thruout this sketchbook already?
no seriously, all love and asspats are fine, but i fucking hate you man.
...

still wanna do something with me man, dunno, kids or something?
holy crap bud! I'm so impressed with the cohesiveness of your bot designs and vehicles...have you drawn out a front to your awesome futer scooter yet?
Portfolio: http://www.jakecollinge.com
TheGnoll: haha lol, i think i prefer chicks.. i love to get asspats however
Jakers: well, i drew the sideview but the front will be something you have to imagine how it would look, because im done with this one.
i changed the scooter once again (now its finished) I never spend so much time on one design. I did this because someone pointed out there is a design contest with a briefing fitting exactly my design and i can possibly win 500 dollars..we'll see..
something funny

more robots :3
well for the time yo put in I think you got a great design out of it. and good luck on the contest bud! I think you should quickly play around with adding a bit of color to the last landscape - just a couple color layers to try a few different color schemes - and keeping the dull mood you like (since I do as well).
Portfolio: http://www.jakecollinge.com
hey man, lovely lovely. designs are lookin reeeeeeal good and your colors have really jumped up a notch. congrats!
for hands, i recommend bridgman's "Book of a Hundred Hands"...a very thorough book on learning the hand. it will help you with the basic proportions and gestures of hands, and from there you can apply it to all else you draw. from the way i see you came to learn color, this shouldn't be much of a problem for you...just right learning and then mileage. you can do it, man!!!!!!!

Jakers: thanks for that. i will play around with a color layer to see if i can get i more interesting
purb36: hehe hey purb, thanks for the love. i know that book yur talking about, i have to get a copy of that asap.. know an internet link to a torrent or something? btw, i know some basic coloring principles (alla prima has some handy principles too), but there's a whole WORLD of coloring i have to learnfor example look at mr.blonde and you know what i talk about.
i learned a lot with this one. took me a lot of time, i think i did like 5 redesigns on top of eachother for all the technical stuffs at the wheels
and of course i like to draw retard creatures like these
edit: the first sketch i started with for the car...

Haha, this is such an entertaining sketchbook! There is so much improvement and great concepts and all...I will defenately be checking in here more often!
Keep it up, dude. Never stop.
I like that environment. Its not happening much in it but its pretty calm and soothing. Nice graphic design quality to the industrial designs.
