The extra light sources are quite dramatic - the colors are workin well in the one at the top of the page. if I had any suggestions for that one it would be to reduce the variety of brush stroke types - there are some broad round types, more hatching, and long strokes which might stop some harmony.
Neat strokes in the most recent painting. for the highlights, you could make them pop even further by altering their hue from the base light color?

man, the render on that robot is great, and some of your environment drawings from early in your sketch book and spot on. cool stuff.
i love your perspective/arhitectural drawings with marker...do you have any tips on creating these?...do ou sketch them out first with pencil and then marker em' up or just dive right in w/ a marker, etc.? any tips on this would be REALLY helpful for me! keep it up..your character progression has also been fantastic!
Oooh great updates!! You're awesome ^^
I'm kinda tired cos I just got home from work so I'll keep it short:
I love the skintone practice on the last post. Remember that on dark skintones the colours are usually a little more saturated than on blank skintones and the highlights much much much bolder.
Oh and I definitely like where this is going, it could use some more contrast colour and value wise but it's really nice ^^
Seeyou around,
Maybe there'll be a dutch sketchmeet again this vacation

Hey man, those last b/w ones look really nice. You're doing good, i see a lot of improvement over the pages of the sketchbook!
Saurus: it depends. sometimes, when finding a design, you can start with shaping with marker. then later, you start line drawing on top of that. mostly i dont have a lot of perspective involved when doing this. Other times, i start with line drawing and then 'render' it with marker
Noë:thanks marleen, you're too kindshame i wasnt there at hellmouth. i had other stuff
next time i will try to make it.
Erik: yeah thanks man, i appreciate it
i decided to go and study ID at TUdelft next year
ooh, and its the first day of my vacation, wippie!!!
wip, half an hour i think

nice going here mate, really cool and quick concepts, I enjoy your fluent brushwork.
Those quick B&W sketches are looking sharp man, kind of reminds me of those chinese ink brushes or whatnot ^^killer work.
I like the high saturation you use but try to add some more colours to your pieces to add some depth and variation.
Keep up the good work man, I am impressed!

Buckster: yes i know. color is my biggest problem at the moment.. but im starting to understand contrasts with saturation.. its also a matter of being realy really suttle with color changes.
