I won't get into the design aspects of your robot, but you need to work on the coloring/shading. Here's a tutorial by Prom that you should thoroughly study.

I think the colored one is the weak link of the 3 to be honest. white highlights / black shadows is something that you would rarely see in real life. Let alone in illustration. The tutorial that JFWalls gave you is great. There's also another really good one by IdiotApathy. Check It Out.

I'll take a look at the tutorial. It was a school project from a previous quarter.
