Not sure if I should add a tree behind her, would that be distracting? Any crits/comments welcome.

pretty dreamy i'd say =D it has a really good feeling. i like the first one actually cause i can imagine it in a kids book or something. I'd like to crit more but i think its complete and finished for what it is. This illustration shows your style and your level of skill. Which is a good thing

I think he means that it is refined and looks "finished" because you took the time to do a good job on each element. Which IS a good thing.

I would agree that the picture is ready. The rendering is good.
That the picture is for me not in the "wow level" is because of the composition.
The interesting part of the picture is plain in the middle - is nearly symetric -and the eye of the viewer is not really led around. That part is not very exciting.
You may already have read about the rule of thirds and the golden sections - if not it may be useful to look it up. But that is nothing that could be applied for this picture in this state now.
As i said - that is my reason. I am no expert - only a lousy beginner.
I think it IS a very good picture - maybe not wow - but very good. I wish i could do something like that.
