Those creature designs that I have seen so far are amazing. However, your Mega Man related stuff is also great, and I'd like to see some more mechanical & fantasy related art from you.

Been doing alot of concepting work for that megaman project. Most of it isnt worth showing though, way loose ideas that only make sense if you are in the project :/

Ill have something to show from it soon.

In my spare time(very little of it...) I drew up a side profile for a friend to model.

I will make it an ortho later, as i have not flushed out the final design on it yet.

The idea of the character is that he is satan's messanger. I got the inspiration from a Mark Twain claymation cartoon here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak3z2Pm7Iwg

I`ve looked through your SB and all I can say is WOW pld:
I got some questions if you dont mind:
-How long do you paint each day?
-How long have you drawn digitally (in years)?

wow it's pretty weird to see a realistic face on Megaman!

are you trying to work only in Painter now? or are you bouncing between painter and photoshop? I've found that its best to bounce between the two. I think it creates a look that is a little bit more mysterious.

Is Visual F/X hiring any more entry to mid-level artists? I sent an email today but I never know if anyone ever checks their email...

your work has come a long way man. cool to see growth.

    thanks everyone!

roid: i believe vizual fx studios is looking for industrial design/technical based concept artists still.

If you have that in your arsenal, you should apply

Also, I'm only now just learning photoshop, sketchup, and drawing for reals with tradiational mediums. I have ALOT to learn :p

nice to see traditional stuff from you. its looking strong. im feeling that fleshy demon thing from #1206 really cool head design if im looking at it right. also the neato monster head from the last update. is that a beak? regarding the last one of a woman, i like the way you handled the lighting on the far cheek but i dont see that subtlety in the rest of the rendering. you might feel the same. i dig the lighting on the 3rd head. best wishes

yeah its all ball point. I used a prisma color color blender and some prismacolor white colored pencils to bring some highlights out.

I'm going to order some white gouache in the future and try to advance the style even more.

what kind of ball point pen? i've been dying to find one that fine and capable of such light values. yours looks like mechanical pencil at times.

These were done with a normal papermate and bic pen.

if you want a softer and almost textured ballpoint result, try using bic's
slightly wetter but still loose papermate.

if you want to try a very wet ballpoint try the uni-jetstreams (i just ordered some from jetpens.com )
