great works m@. i really appreciate the insights from these videos! would you say these paintings are similar to the concept art you do professionally? like, is it also a mix of environments, vehicles, characters and a similar amount of detail and time taken?

Skureal : thanks man, glad you like them! thanks for stopping by, love your work dude.

    ptcmia : ok

Machineabuse : thanks, glad it was helpful. No color picker hotkey in my knowledge

bumskee : haha no, this one is 5 times faster... sorry to disappoint kamsa hamida.

Cwn Annwn : (that was harsd to type, is it Gaelic or Welsh or something?) thanks!

Skureal : uh uh right! actually I always paint in 1 second. I record myself with a high speed camera.

    Smokey186 : thank you

    Mindflaw : no problem!

    shyamshriram : thanks to you!

Stark : hehe, hope it will be useful

    TroyWilkerson : thanks!

Call0ps : I'm not that fast, this one was made in 45 min as I said.

    altologico : thanks!

notspecialist : thanks. Well it depends. Sometimes I make that kind of pics, sometimes I stay much longer on them. And yeah, enviros, characters, vehicles, etc.

    ---

a couple of enviros , testing some brushes.

    Crazy!
Did you use reference in the past for colors? What would you do to learn coloring like you do now?

Amazing! I really like the mood in your pictures.
The last one, with the green trees Is it supposed to be water? Because I have that reflections feeling and it looks great.

Wow! From what I saw on the first page, you have absolutely incredible technique! The second pic has some amazing places, like the armor. I think some of the areas are done unusually, like the hair of the girl in that same pic- close up, I can see it's simple rounded brushings, but somehow it really works. I'll post again when I see the rest-- awesome.

Epias : thanks. No I didn't nearly use as much ref as I should. I'm lazy on that, I prefer working with no restrictions. Each time I used refs I learned tons I think though. I think I try to be very observative and analytic of what I see in everyday life

Kiruakiller : hehe, cool to see you here

Ive : thanks, and nooo it's not supposed to be water, damn, I f**ked up this one it seems, it's meant to be white flowers in the grass, I guess I should have defined their shapes mores.

Cok3 : thanks, my brushes are in my exclusive sketchbook in my sig.

Data_Strings : thanks, hope you'll enjoy the rest. (the sedonc pic is not finished btw... I would have detailled the hair more to fit the rest of the pic's style which is kinda smooth and detailed)

    Renegade_1 : thanks, no problem

Idiot Apathy : haha thanks, I'll try to do often but I'm just not doing it all the time, it kinda changes the feeling of making a speed painting, but it's cool.

Sepulverture : thanks and no problem ! glad it was useful.

    -----

    new one and new vid!
this time I looked at some various pictures beforehand to loosely inspire myself.

    hey m@!

I've always loved your work and have been visiting your SB for ages and have never replied. Anyway....have you ever thought of accompanying your videos with audio commentary...where you could talk about what goes on inside your head (especially about colour, lighting and values) and about your techniques...just an idea

I love how the stuff you do seems so...glowy.....lol
May I ask how you go about practicing speed painting? sorry if it seems like a dumb question. I've tried speed painting before but it always turns out bad. I'm more of a...sketch first, paint later kinda guy

btw...my name is "Matthias" hehe...just cool to have a similar name to the famous m@

Wow m@, thanks for more videos! Is that a perspective grid for landscapes in last speed paint? Video is a bit blurry/fast to see it in detail. Also if it's not too hard could you post a little slower video?

Anyway awesome stuff, thank you for sharing!
