Back to the gestures, their looking good and your getting a better handle on them now. I think im learning for myself now that gestures are deffinatly the way to go for a while to get some good progress but u figured that out a lot sooner then i did
im kind of jellous that girl from imagintation is pretty good and i always seem to have difficulties drawing girls from mind

I haven't drawn too much lately, so I'm rusty. I decided to do some gestures from/in the style of Bridgeman's Constructive Anatomy.

Not much. More ribcage-pelvis gestures, and some studies I did of eyes; copies from Bargue, Sheppard, and Naoko Takeuchi (yeah, manga. I'll be looking at a lot of artists I like, not just masters or manga only, as I try to figure out how they draw eyes). I noticed my eyes were looking a lot alike, and I'm doing studies, starting with stylized to get into it and working towards reference/life. Oddball, but we'll see how it goes.

You have a nice work ethic, and its already paying off.

    Keep up the hard work!

Sublimus: Thank you for coming by. I don't agree just yet. When I'm honestly back to daily drawings (if not posts) for a month, then I'll think I have a good work ethic.

Working on that goal. Today's pages: eye studies based on CLAMP's work, and poorly done sketches and gestures from my head.

I may wait a little before the next post: it's either going to be a bunch of eye studies done over a couple days or I up my output per day. I'd prefer the latter.

Getting better :] Not sure if anyone has suggested it but Loomis and Bridgman have great books available for download. I use them rather often, so you may find them useful as well.

Sorry, I have been posting this damn quote everywhere, but I love it, and I think others can appreciate it as well.

"Remember, there are things which you are in complete control of: How hard you work, how quickly you grow (this is closely related to how hard you work), recognizing opportunities, and taking advantage of them, what you know, and what you learn, being a great student with a curious mind (this should last your entire life), your willingness to share, to be taught, surrounding yourself with more talented people, more driven people, etc., committing to you goals and embracing them as part of your lifestyle, etc." -Sterling Hundley

threecharles: Thanks for dropping by. Yes, I am familiar with both Loomis and Bridgman, and while I do find them great sources, I do tend to like to mix it up a bit.

Just eye studies based on Oh! My Goddess artist Kosuke Fujishima. I could not draw anything finished this weekend. I am going to make an effort to finish drawings.

Simply yesterday's gestures and a Col-erase picture I did to prove to myself I could finish something, no matter how simple it is.

I don't think I have any watercolors in here... Huhn. Anyway, simple exercise from a how-to book, but something to get me doing watercolors.

Last couple days of drawings. Gestures, still life attempts, and yesterday's daily drawing. I am not pleased with that one because I fell back onto so many bad habits.

Trying to get myself drawing actual people. I'm going back and looking at Loomis, and a little at Brigeman. They are so bad, but I am starting something.

    re

Nice eye studies. I still have a hard time myself relating life drawing of a real eye and then applying it to anime style. I'm not sure if it's because it's so stylized or that the eyes in anime characters are more oval shaped than a normal round.

Hi there! Long time no see XD

I saw so many great improvement, I like the studies (including the manga; it's interesting to see the difference between realistic art and the uber-mangaesque one, and master both )

I like your last studies too XD

Pigeonkill: I don't have too much of a problem, probably because I started to learn drawing from animated eyes (namely Disney and a few animated based series), but I also know the form of the eye. It isn't too much to stylize it if you know what's important. Good mangaka still follow anatomy, even if stylized.

Trefle: Yeah, it has been a while. Where've you been? Thanks for the compliments. I need to get back to doing more studies.

Gestures for the most part. Will try to get some other exercises and drawings in tonight, but may not go up until tomorrow.

Doodles for future items. One for a fan project, the other two for the latest Lingmerth challenge. All ballpoint pen, it just works for brainstorming pics.
