hey man, thanks for dropping by my sketchbook again!

so i see you got some new stuff, and they're not bad as far as things go, but i think you might have made a mistake here; one of your hands have only 3 fingers and a thumb :p

wonder why noone else mentioned it lol.

    edit:
    yay, page2!

Right you are, couchPotato, but it was intentional (silly, I know ). I was just fooling around and made a semi-human hand. Anyhow, thanks for pointing out stuff like that.

    Here's some muscle studies:

nice studies, for critics i would work on your lines. tip: ghost the pencil movement of the line in your head, before actually executing the line you want to hit. and always think of stuff in dimension. but i guess you have more muscles knowledge then me so respect!!!

Your studies are awesome! The "random stuff" reminded me that I need to work on some lighting/shading.

    Thanks for your advice Gosu!
Glad I could help you some way, Kat

    Two creature concepts:
    Bardodont
These massive herbivores walk the steppes in flocks eating plants and grass most of the day. Unless provoked they are peaceful although they can get very aggressive when protecting their young.
    Active: Day
Size: ca. 2000 kg (ca. 4409 pounds)
    Durability: Tough
    Habitat: Steppes
    Rootdrake
These animals dig tunnels in the ground for shelter and food. They are omnivores and mostly eat roots, fruit and small animals. They pose a medium threat to humans as they can be very aggressive if a human comes near their lair or a very hungry rootdrake.
    Active: Day/Night
Size: ca. 200 kg (ca. 441 pounds)
    Durability: Tough
    Habitat: Steppes and deserts.

Well, if the hand fingers are intentional, then it's my bad haha. No offense intended dude.

Anyhow, your Bardodont reminds me of the extinct Giant American Sloth. Is that your inspiration?

Sorry its been so long Zombie. These latest creature designs are good, but I would like to see some finished pieces soon with some cleaner lines.

No offense taken, Couchpotato The Bardodont is inspired by some extint two-horned rhinoceros. Looked up that sloth, looks kinda familiar though.

Sorry to dissapoint you Envisor but I won't be doing anything that serious for a while. Gonna practice on my lines though.

Thanks, geizler. I'll try to do better lines and get more values in my sketches.

its nice to see that you are drawing regularly, when you draw it helps if you do alot of very light scribbles to get the forms you want, dont be afraid to get messy. then draw some hard, defined lines on top of that, also draw more

    nice studies

Getting better and better, especially on line quality but on proportion as well. Studies are doing great as usual. Last post I like the ear and the back studies. Hope everything is well in your personal life. Keep it up.

Nice stuff, like it's been said proportions are getting better, but your faces are still weak compared to your figures. So reference work of whole faces maybe? Keep it up

Thanks for your concern, Envisor. Things are better now.

I really agree with you on the faces, Rhineville. The head and face is (to me) the most important thing on the human body. I really should get better at drawing them. I'll start now and post some later tonight or tomorrow. Untill then, some random crap:

Hey thanks man for stopping by..proably one of the fastest comments I've recieved after updating...made my day since I'm still on, I figured I'd respond. ...your sketchbook is looking nice...those studies are coming along well... do you mind me asking where you get the poses for you anatomy studies from...I work from a book with limited illustrations so mine seem to be very upfront and stationary...would love to try some of the ones you have going on....anyway doing good...keep doing what your are and you'll progress fast.

Hey dude thanks for the comment in my sketchbook! Your studies are looking great keep working them --- maybe also try doing some studies of the full skeleton frame... just a suggestion.
And don't forget to experiment when you feel like it!!
I think in essense it works like this: the more you draw the faster you progress. you definitely got the basics of anatomy --- go draw !

Thanks for all the kind words! I haven't been able to draw much lateley since I have alot to do right now but in a few weeks I will be able to update more often.

Gspot, I use a variety of books but the ones I'm most frequently use now are some Loomis books (don't remember where I downloaded those, sorry), Figure Drawing by Ron Tiner and a book by Daniel Carter and Michael Courtney.

    Here's a little thing I drew today:
